I've holly-fied my avatar and all (thanks to xitel and crew), but I still can't feel the Christmas cheer! Must be because there's a ton of paper work to finish... Gawd, why am I so depressed at the happiest season of the year?

Depression skyrockets this time of year, as do suicides. I would Imagine most of those are due to loneliness. But you just sound like you're suffering from work overload.

yeah, yeah give him ideas, thats smart.

i suggest walking out into the street and dancing. it wont cure your depression, but you will be so embarassed you can claim you arent going outside because of that and it works as a good cover.

suicide is bad because it creates zombies and they are impurvious to the ph34r
i recomend going out and being recklessly impulsive, for example go and buy tons of crap regardless of your money budget

I imagine your lack of Christmas cheer is very similar to mine. My last test of the term was yesterday, and now I feel a lot more Christmassy. So I imagine that the workload you have is in your mind a lot more, and subconsciously, you are not allowing yourself to enjoy the festive season until it's done with.

Yeah...the suicide booth's always busy this time of year (Mods please note this is a Futurama reference and not a morbid observation of humanity's melancholic introspection in times of supposed joy)

Seriously, you'll feel better once all the paperwork is done and you can focus on the important things about the Christmas period such as generosity of spirit and having family and friends by your side.

I'm depressed too this christmas, as I'm thousands of miles from the one I love, I feel sick and everything is going wrong at work (My work-effort is fine, it's just I have to work with the worst computer system ever).

This may be a bit off topic, but how did all your avatars get so Christmasy?

I'm not feeling too Christmas-y this year either. It sounds like many are in the same situation as this as well. It also seems to be for the same reason - Work Overload!
Just remember that you're not alone in feeling like this. I'm also sure that once you get the work out of the way, the festive cheer will flow...

Go down to the local church/soup kitchen/food bank, and serve up some grub to the hungry/homeless/less fortunate.

That usually does the trick.

Get some beers in, watch a Christmas movie with your family/friends/jailers. Laugh at the sappiness of it all. *Snap*. Christmas baby!

Or go to church. I'm not exactly religious, but worked for me.

I've heard that's actually a load of BS, while it's true depression is high, suicide is not, that's just exaggerated by the media
