I bring this up because of the most recent COD DLC where you play as a predator. People seem like they like it but they hate that COD is attached too it. Is it really that difficult for you to like something because a company you don't like is making it. Its like the same thing with Nintendo and Bayoneta2. What's going to happen if EA produces a product that is tailored to the consumer, will people still talk ill of it. If you like something just admit and wait for it reach a price point where you don't feel bad about buying it.

If someone wants to hate something, they will find a way. Even if it is the smallest detail, they will complain about it. Some people just like complaining, either because it's in their nature or they just want to slander the company as much as possible. Just the way the world works.

I don't even have Ghosts, but when I read this topic about being a Predator I said "Oh I've got to see this!" And sure enough, yeah, you're The Predator from the first movie.

Which, to be fair to the haters, is game-breakingly overpowered. Lock-on one-hit kill? Check. Thermal vision? Check. Cloaking ability? Check. And to top it all off, when you die you set off a bomb that instantly kills all enemies on the map......yeah, that's fair. /sarcasm.

As I said, I don't even have Ghosts, and while I'm a HUGE Predator fan, I've gotta say it's obscenely overpowered for a CoD game.

I would argue that PvZ: Garden Warfare is tailored to the consumer. More on topic, I don't get it either. If it's good, it's good. 'Nuff said.

Hating is one thing but what you suggest there is dropping all principle at the first sign of good content, which you do still pay for extra...

If that is your jam go right ahead, but that just lets devs know they can get away with any sort of shit as long as there is non awful DLC somewhere in the pipeline.
I can't think of words that would make the average mindless consumer understand how horrid of an idea that is.

Can we just take this as the answer and leave it at that?

I'm pretty sure we've drilled this discussion into the ground, firmly enough already.

I am a casual CoD fan. By casual I mean I own only a few games in the series, CoD2, CoD4:MW, and CoD:BO. The games I do own I enjoy greatly and have spent hundreds of hours playing each CoD game I own. That being said I just found Michael Myers and Predator thing in the CoD:G really out of place. The CoD series jumped the shark in ridiculousness years ago but something about having classic horror movie icons seems more out of place than Russia single handedly blowing up the world because one American was suspected of aiding a terror attack in an airport.

Curious to see what Treyarch is up to.

I don't get the term 'haters'.. Calling someone a hater of something you do seems like sort of a way to make yourself seem way more important than you actually are. Disliking and hating something are two completely different things. Hate is a very strong emotion, the opposite of love.. You have to REALLY do something to me personally for me to actually hate you.

Plus it just sounds really dumb.

the main reason I immediately discredit it so much is this...

If I don't like the publisher as a company. They have done things in the past, and continue to do things today that continues to cause problems for the industry and user. Therefore, I will not support them by purchasing any of their products. This isn't so much the case with Activision though. I just find most of that they publish to be boring.

I do not find "safe" IP's enjoyable. I don't enjoy that kind of gameplay. I want something new, something with a challenge. A mix, and match of game-play elements, like NS2's commander. When I play a game, I want to think and be part of a well established in team achieving what feels like is impossible, like in Payday 2.

To call me a "hater" would sound weird. I just don't find it fun, and I've seen patterns that suggest that it just won't be fun for me. So I just don't pay the game any mind to even know about the predator mode.

Case in point. This sounds mind-numbingly boring as fuck. At least in hidden, you lost a lot if you instantly killed someone, and there was no lock-on for it either. You had to time that shit right, or you were about to get it in a very uncomfortable place.

Hates just a convenient word to be thrown around now. I find it hard to judge "hate" on the internet anyway (MINUS EVERYTHING BEING TYPED IN CAPITALS!!!!!!), as theres no vocal tone or facial expressions to judge off of.

But Predators in CoD ay? The massively overpowered quick scoping and one hit kills in this game.....and the previous ones, killed my love for the franchise anyway. The series ended for me with with CoD2 on the PC back in the dark ages.

I'm not hating, I'm just not tolerating.

Well, you're not supposed to get haters. A hater is usually someone who will dislike something no matter what, and will continue to make complaints no matter how invalid they are. Often the reason for being a hater is trolling or because it's cool to hate on that particular game, as it is in this case. COD's a fine example. It's very cool to hate COD at the minute, so even with a pretty good predator DLC, people will still insist on doing so, and are likely to change their opinion when the majority does. Kind of like sheep.

Nothing frustrates me more than when somebody is oversensitive and mistakes constructive criticism or a complaint based on personal preference as "hating". I've experienced this at the hands of the dreaded Pewdiepie fans.

Hater: Nintendo sucks because it just does. Everyone who enjoys them deserves ridicule. (well, it wouldn't be quite so eloquent...)
Non-hater: Most Nintendo IPs just aren't my thing. To each his own, though, right?

A lot of people like to hate on anything that is ultra popular because they think it makes them look cool and edgy and like they're a member of the 'counter-culture'. EA is the biggest VG company and makes lots of money, COD is a blockbuster franchise, some people think hating on things that popular makes them seem smarter than "the masses".

If you want a good example, look at music, you'll hear people all the time talk about how great some band was until they "sold out" and now they suck. Oftentimes, this just means "I liked the band when no one knew who they were, but now that everyone does liking them doesn't make me seem cool and edgy anymore".
