What's there to get?Veronika said:I am going to get the biggest beatdown in history for this, but...
I don't get Transformers. There, I said it!
all of those stink though.Squarez said:Almost everyone's been there, you walk into school/ work/ college, and nearly EVERYONE'S talking about it, some amazing TV show, movie or game, they ask if you've seen it so that they can talk about their favourite parts to you, you say no, and they leave you alone.
The rest of the day they won't shut up about it, so after you get home, you decide to sit down and watch/ play it, to see what the fuss is about.
After it's finished you just sit there and say to yourself "I don't get it".
Why is it so popular?
So I'm asking, what popular things that everyone else seems to like do you just not understand the appeal of?
P.S. For the record my things would be The Goonies, The Goodies or Big Brother.
I guess I may just be getting older but I remember shows liek Rocko's modern life that were fuuny when i was kid, bt now when I rewatch it I find a lot of really funny adult humor in there, I don't see that clever humor present in these new shows. also the shows like TNMT that were funny yet tought morals I don't see that anymore in kids shows. I really feel that creative writeing has gone out the window-Seraph- said:Couldn't agree with you more3rd rung said:I have to go with any of the reality TV shows, and these new talent show lie American idol/danceign with the starts. I have no cool why they are still o nthe air. Also the new shows on cartoon network like Tim and eric great job, what happend to subtle humor, clever language, now its just like fart sounds and bright colors
I like both of them. Don't know what that says about me though... lolObtusifolius said:The In-Betweeners and the Mighty Boosh.

I enjoy it quite a bit. To me, it's just goofy. If you like memes, it's kind of like each episode features their own self-made memes. It also parodies public access broadcasting, advertising, and cinema which I find funny. The guest stars are great, the music is catchy, and they make good use of green screen, while making it look ever-so-bad. It's one of those shows that people really aren't on the fence about, you either love or hate it. TAEASGJ is it's own thing in a lot of rights, and in a lot of ways it borrows (or pays homage) to other great comedy stylings.Thunderhorse31 said:Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! So... the depth of stupid is so vast, that I have yet to gain a proper appreciation for it? I guess I'm still just amazed that anyone could get paid to do what they do (i.e. writing songs about people who pee sitting down).chronobreak said:I enjoy it quite a bit. To me, it's just goofy. I agree, LOST had the potential to be amazing (and I'm sure I was in the first few seasons), but from what I've seen they've just gone bananas with it all, secret underground laboratories? On a desert island? Riiight...Sissas said:LOST!! i can't understand the magic. i think people only keep seeing it because of the 'addiction' factor because it all seems just too stupid/weird/wannabe smart to me. and the again i only watched a few episodes, but since one of them involved polar bears... not willing to give it a chance![]()
