people praise them but others see them as enemy's they popped out of nowhere and just started taking over.

Do you think there intentions are good?
Are they Evil or Good?
Are there threats empty?

I think there the good guys there trying to do the right thing take down bad company's.
I think they can and will fight back.
The way they go about certain things can be troubling.

The Collective is best described as Chaotic Neutral [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChaoticNeutral].

You dont really know who theyre going to go for next, much less if they deserve it.

Thay fight for what they believe is right, not for personal gain. When weighed up against the things they target, yeah I'd say that makes them the good guys. Pity the only have the ability to do denial of service attacks and nothing more.

I think they are the DR. Horrible of the internet. Or is Dr. Horrible the Dr. Horrible of the internet.
They do bad things, but largely to people i dont like, so i find it hard to dislike them.

no they are not. They will be used as a tool to take use when governments wish to control what we do and do not on the internet and then the people who always supported this cyber terrorist group will be bitching the loudest about their rights being taken away but then that's the norm isn't it

They fight for whatever they think is right. Could be good or bad, but I find I'm almost always rooting for them.

They aren't good or bad. They do what they think is right, whether it is or it isn't.

Cowards are what they are.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of Anonymous wouldn't do a damn thing if they had to show up to a protest something in person.

From what I have observed,it is the group collective in that they join together when a common goal is sought but otherwise go about their own business, unfortunately they wish for no secrets as it seems and therefore undermine their own claims of defending free speech by removing the option to keep silent.

I would disagree. Firstly, because they set off my evildar, and secondly, because they love destruction. Chaotic neutral wants anyone to be free to discorse themselves as they so choose. Chaotic evil believes that "Might makes right". They are cruel and petty children.

Applying morals or alignments to them is stupid.

They are a bunch of very bored people who face no personal consequences for their actions. That is all. They do whatever the fuck they feel like until their interest wanes.

So, what you're saying is that they're cowards for doing something more effective, which is also illegal?

I actually saw an in person anti-Scientology protest by Anonymous in Melbourne last year.

I think they have to be taken on a case by case basis. They sort of represent us, the internet users, and I guess are kind of our vigilante force. So I think we have a responsibility for them, and if they act in a way that we don't like, we have to say, "No. This is not what we want you to do."

Ok ill settle for Type 1 Chaotic Evil [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChaoticEvil].

Type 1 places more emphasis on Chaotic than Evil, believing that their own freedom is the most important thing. They're far from being a noble person (they're still Evil after all), but they value the ability to commit acts of evil over actually committing them. As a result, this type of character can actually side with the forces of Good in the fight for freedom. Don't turn your back though, because this also means that two seconds from now their idea of freedom may change and they'll become your worst enemy. Given a lot of patience, a crapload of love, a sprinkling of luck, and a great big stick, a Type 1 may gradually reform into Chaotic Neutral or even Chaotic Good, but don't hold your breath.

And they were still anonymous. Anybody can do anything if there is no accountibility and consequences for their actions.
