Has this ever happened to you? You acquire a new piece of technology, but you can't get it to work for you and/or an old, reliable piece of technology suddenly stops working. You fiddle with it for a while, and eventually to continue technology use without it. Suddenly, the piece of technology spontaneously begins working again! Share your "technology crapping out on me" stories.

First time I ever got a router, I couldn't figure out what the fuck I was supposed to do with the thing since the directions were pretty much incomprehensible. I followed them as best as possible but it still wouldn't work.

Somehow though, I was able to get it to work. Now, I'm able to install many computer apps, accessories, and other equipment with ease.

yeah, Ive had both my 360 and my dvd player on my pc mess up and both times just unplugging them and then plugging them back in (after a couple days for the 360, just the drive for the dvd) fixed whatever the problem was

I once smacked the TV remote, and the cable came back on.

I later found out I had previously turn the cable box off, and hit power when I smacked it.

the lock mechanismon my nes broke i tried for days to get it to work again because i was on hell bent on being the only american to beat baattletoads (needless to say i could not:()
then one day i felt the need to play some mario 3, pulled out battletoads, put in mario pushed it down and bam 1 and done (for those not familiar with the labor of love trying to get a nes to work is, getting it to work on the first try is like winning the lottery and your ex girlfriend calling you to say she should never have left you and she wants to have freaky sex with you right now. In the same day)

Kicked the crap out of my PC once when it didn't work, and I fixed my 360 with nothing but my fists, a screwdriver, and swear words.

Had this in class once in high school. Screen went green and horizontal lines started ascending from the bottom of the screen (similar to an untuned TV).

I tried everything I could to fix it.
My friend hit it once. All solved. o_O

I wish that would happen to me.

My watch, a watch given to me by my grandfather who had bought it for me before his death for my birthday and i recieved it after his death.

After that it was with me everywhere, i even had it synced with the school bell, so as to prepare for departure (the clocks are crap)

but now it has ceased working.......

Had an old CRT monitor not too long ago which (for some reason) began acting up, as in minimizing on-screen stuff by wrapping the image around itself (hard to explain).

Looked up forums, called friends, nothing. In an act of pure anger, I beat the side of the monitor, and lo and behold, the image popped back to normal with a strange flicker sound. Pure win.

A friend of mine's car died in my driveway. I told him to pop the hood, fiddled around in their mindlessly, not knowing what I was doing, and almost got electrocuted. When he tried it again it started.

When he asked me what I had done, I answered that I'd fiddled with his "Johnson rod" hoping that he would end up telling that to the mechanic. :D
