I don't like babies

Whenever pictures of a baby are brought out, I feel awkward. Society says as a woman I should gush and be enthralled by them spitting up their food while eating. I especially feel almost broken when there is a baby present and everyone around me is jiggling things in its face and doing "baby talk". Youtube videos of babies doing things reach millions of views and I wonder why I don't have that maternal instinct.

I should have prefaced this saying that I would love my future child, but I wouldn't expect people to be amazed with my child either, especially after something banal like them using a diaper. Baby animals of all kinds are very cute to me. Perhaps that is because when I see a human baby, I can see them growing up to be self centered, whiny, cruel, and selfish. At least sharks don't grow up to bully and be cruel; they just hunt, because it is their nature.

Then there is all the marketing that uses babies and play on people going crazy over them.

So when a baby is brought out, I feel pressured to act like I care. I feel like Elaine from Seinfeld when she is around babies. Who else?

Consider this - maybe it's everybody. Nobody actually likes them but they all have to pretend in order not to make the others think they are weird. That would certainly be ironic. Or whatever it would be.

I don't like babies and I hate pregnancy. The idea of it, the sight of bulbous bloated women, the whole thing. It makes me feel slightly ill.

Some people love babies. Those people think that everybody should like babies. People with babies are even worse. I just pretend to care and then get on with my life. It's the easy option.

I'm just extremely apathetic towards babies.
They're just...there, another person, nothing special at all. When they do weird things I suppose it can be a bit funny but other than that they just don't stir up any emotion from me.

The only thing I like less than babies is the way other people act around them. Making those stupid noises and singing stupid songs over and over and over. Honestly it gets to a point where I want to scream at them to shut up.

Hold on, no emotion? At all? Do you even know what that makes you? A Jedi.

Of course we do. Is there anything at all that you love but don't think other people should love, or at least don't care either way if they like it or not?

Yes, I understand. These aren't the droids I'm looking for. Move along, now.

I can't help but to post this

I don't have a problem with babies other than if they cried loudly and the parent/ carer can't calm them down no matter what they do.

I'm okay with them.

I'm the oldest brother in my family and there's a sizeable age gap between me and my siblings, the oldest of them being nine years younger than me. The upshot is that I got used to dealing with babies and little kids early on. They're actually pretty nice to have around when they aren't going out of their way to a pain.

Although I do think it's a bit silly when parents won't shut up about their baby's latest possibly-a-word or the amazing crap he did the other day. Luckily, being a guy and all, I'm not really expected to care.

I can't think of anything I have a passion for that I think everyone should love, I think that would be asshatty of me. I appreciate that my likes are personal to me and therefore not everyone is going to be as impressed with certain things as I do. I'm not going to argue the merits of Conan Doyle over Charlene Harris or Bowie over Rhianna. I know that there is no right or wrong in terms of what people like, so as long as they keep their passions out of my face, I'm good. Those with babies tend to be a bit pushy in showing off their spawn and have a habit of taking it personally if you are not bowled over by cuteness.

I dunno i don't have much of an interest in them yet i wanna get on with my life, if someone else has a baby cool i'll look at it and smile just don't ask me to hold it :S

I would like kids in future but fuck that now i have enough difficulties looking after myself without having to worry about that x).

It's not weird to hate babys as a woman though i have known 2 girls who despise the idea of babys to the degree where they are full on paranoid about contraception also, which is fair enough.

So it is like that modern art with two squares or all one solid color? Everyone in the room tries to act like it is deep but in their heads, they are thinking that it is garbage.

Also I don't get why celebrity baby photos rack in millions of dollars. Wow, they just did something that has been done billions of times over. Actually, doing a yoyo trick is far more impressive than giving birth as it hasn't been done nearly as much. Now if they gave birth to cthulu...

I absolutely loath babies with a passion. I hate their stupid fat bodies, I hate they way that they cry and drool. Whenever I see or hear a crying baby I want to hit it until it shuts up. I do not want to spend years of my life rotating around shit and vomit (ask any parent).

My friends already know to keep their babies away from me. It is the way that I yell, "oh my GOD, get that THING away from me". I do buy their kids presents and stuff but there is a mutual understanding that beyond material goods, I provide nothing and remain in a baby-free hamster ball.

So yeah, I guess that motherhood or any work involving children is off the cards for me.

I am not a complete monster though, I love cats.

personally I'm not impressed by babies, I mean new borns all look the same..that said I think when they get to the early toddler age when they derp around its the cutest thing ever...but that said I don't want one of those for myself

Yeah, I suppose that's the idea. Also, I dunno, but you could probably consider babies a form of art, I guess.

That statement. It's either wrong, mistaken, or, possibly, disturbingly correct. Because cats are...fascinating creatures [http://theoatmeal.com/comics/cats_actually_kill].
