Hell, it was a trailer for Saints Row 3 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvIuht69IPA] that ultimately got me into his music.

This is a tangent, but it's weird. I dislike that song, but at the same time, I think it worked out great for the game. I mean, sometimes an act's song being in a soundtrack will sell me on them, but other times, it's more "you know, I hate this song, but damn does it work here."

I had a similar feeling for Evaescence's "Bring Me To Life" in Daredevil. It's a shame the movie wasn't good. But the use it made of the song....Yeah. For a minute I actually sort of enjoyed both the movie and the song because of the combined effort.

I know what you mean and to be honest I find it pretty bizarre how I managed to get into his music like that. I'm not complaining though, more music to enjoy for me n_______n

The OP could have been describing me. I only find myself getting any sort of non-neutral response if the piece has some emotional connection to it. That basically means games, because that's where I get most of my soundtrack-backed experiences. There are some songs in movies that move me if they were placed well in a good story.
