a thing that is disliked by people...where you don't get what all hate is about

for me its Linkin Parks Album "Thousand Suns"

while I wouldnt call myself a "fan" I did like linkin parks stuff, from when I was a kid up untill now..."minutes to midnight" was their first "departure" from their usual sound (more mainstream rock I supose)...I didnt mind it but it was kind of boring

Thousand Suns came after and from what I can gather angered the "fans" even more (not sure what the overall consensus on minutes to midnight was) and this what I dont get

I thourght Thousands Suns was great, prticualy the first track I heard "The Catlyist",

I love the synths...the cyberpunk feel, nowdays it reminds me so much of ME3 I actually have a hard time listening (bringing up all those negative feelings) before that it reminded me of Deus Ex

see before Linkin Parks range just generally felt like "I'M REALLY REALLY UPSET WITH [B/]YOU[/B]" <-whever this "you" was I don't know but it was always some specific person they were upset with

where as this the scale just feels..."grander"...dare I say more "epic" this is conflict on a world scale

and of coarse some of the other tracks

Blackout is my second favorite, to me it sounds a little closer to "old" linkin park but I like it purley for its music and just the raw insanity (pretensious I know)

their latest "Living things" is good, but its not quite the same..I guess I prefered their "experiemental" aproach

I don't hate Linkin Park I just don't care for their music anymore, but hey someone's gotta like them otherwise they wouldn't be as popular as they are.

OT: For me, to use another music example, is Metallica's Fuel album.

I've met a lot of people that hate that album and I don't get it. Yeah it's not like their past stuff, but that doesn't mean it's not good or anything.

I love this song....

... I think it's great stuff.

It used to bother me, not in the 'stop hating what I like' but more of the 'dear God get over it' way. Now I can't be bothered to give a flying fuck, even though the hate towards it, to me, is a little ridiculous.

Megaman 7: It's a solid game. There are quite a few hidden things that are really cool,it looks slick and is still really fun.Plus S.Adept is cool as hell.Yet it's despised by so many,Heck Brentalfloss takes a half of his Megaman 2 video to bash it.

Yeah, I remember when Korn went and collaborated with dubstep artists, holy shit were their hardcore fans PISSED.

Because, yeah, musicians should totally create the same thing over and over again and never challenge or expand on what they can do...

Change is bad yo.

Yeah, I'm with you here, I've never understood the hate for A Thousand Suns either. While I enjoy Living Things more than it, I still thought it was a damn good album. Don't understand the hate that is there for Living Things as well, in my opinion it's tied with Hybrid Theory for their best album.

Right, onto my choice, although perhaps it's more mockery than out-and-out hatred. Sonic The Hedgehog. In my opinion, he's only had one (maybe two with Shadow the Hedgehog) irredeemable game and that's Sonic 06. Besides that I've enjoyed every other Sonic game I've played (the main series, haven't played the Storybook series or the Sonic Riders one either). So I don't understand, after so many good/great games, why he gets so much hate. Is it because those two bad games were released one after the other so people immediately thought "It's fucked"?

so people don;t like living things now?....but it sounds more "linkin park" than the previous one...what the hell do their "fans" want?

I think with Sonic its like watching a trainwreck...I played sonic 06 before I knew bad games "were a thing" and yeah it was awful

I think its that youve got this out-dated washed up "charachter" who just keeps failing and its.....hilarious, the fans in aprticular don't help

seriously?....thats kind of a dick-move (on their part)

[quote/]Sure the story isn't as great as the first game. But I found the gameplay solid and enjoyable.
Also, the weapons, equipment and abilities, not to mention the AI had all been improved from the previous game.[/quote]

I went in knowing it wasnt going to have Bioshocks "wow" factor...and I wasnt dissapointed

I really liked it and I was skeptical when I first heard about it, but I really loved every song in the album after I got done listening to all of it.

Some fans still hate it, can't please everyone I guess. :/

Admittedly it isn't as split as A Thousand Suns was but yeah, there's hate for it out there. And I honestly have no idea what the fans want.

Oh christ, don't get me started on the fans >.<

I can see why so-called fans having arguments about a change in fucking eye colour may not help in any way.

I don't understand the hate some guys and girls get just because they sleep with many people and never really settle down. Well not really hate but why people look down upon them... makes no sense to me, it's just sex.

YES! YES! YES! /thread YOU ARE CORRECT SIR!

Seriously, Megaman 7 gets waaaay too much undeserved hate. Sure, there was burst man... but what about Freeze Man?! That guy by himself is more fun to fight than any of the bosses in the prior three megaman games. Plus, the game looks slick as hell and there's even a 16-bit remake floating around out there for purists. It's just a great game that really gets no love.

Angry Birds.

I mean, it's so utterly inoffensive. It's just an iPhone game where you launch wingless birds to knock over pig houses.

Perfect game for playing on the bus or in a waiting room.

And yet, apparently it was made by the Antichrist or something.

I think Green Day are an awesome band, especially their most recent album, I also like Linkin Park. The boys got talent.

Anyways, I personally don't see why The Sims 3 (or the Sims in general) gets so much hate. It's game idea is pretty unique and encourages player creativity above anything else. I don't get why so many gamers look down on it. I can't help thinking that if it was some random indie game it would be a fan darling.

the sims in general was loved by everyone...even though I think it was under the EA name at the time it was made by Maxis...the guys who made alot of the other sim games

[small/]I wonder whatever did happen to maxis[/small]

I only ever played the first sims....for to me it seems because the whole game seems to be expansion packs.....tons and tons of expansion packs...I wonder if I'll be getting a complete product should I buy the "main" game. And its owned by EA

I think its because they arent punk or somthing even though they keep getting called punk...and singing in a peudo british accent doesnt make you punk

I only hate them because they unleashed THIS onto the world

this FUCKING song.....played at graduation ceremonys and other functions all the time

soppy, prententious...the absolute fucking epitome of mainstream mediocrety, and people eat it right the fuck up..it just makes me so angry, I hate it so much

Yeah Maxis got eaten by EA :(. If you ever want advice on decent ex pacs to get for the sims lemme know. Some of them are kind of pants and only really good for the extra items.

In short I'd get the base game, generations and pets for a fun time.

Yeah I hate that GD song too. I was in the car listening to Radio 1 though and they were showing off their new album which sounds great and a bit more meaty.

Yeah it has flaws but some people were acting as if it was Superman 64. That being said I got it on steam, after they fixed a ton of shit.
While the response was very negative I don't think that's the only reason why it gets hated on so much. After reviews for the game first came out the creator decided to go on a rage spree telling all the people who didn't like it that they were "playing the game wrong". They refused to accept that their game was anything other than amazing, and that the only reason people didn't like it was because they were too stupid to understand it. That just escalated everything. I guess they finally caved when they re-released it on PC with the improvements, but as I understand it the reaction to that was that it was too little too late.

Because it's the poster child for casual/iOS gaming, and as we all know those things are the bringers of the gaming apocalypse. If you're the kind of moron that hates casual and iOS games on principle, then you must hate Angry Birds. They are synonymous. It is the gaming Antichrist.

It probably also has something to do with the fact that Angry Birds is everywhere. You can't get away from the marketing. Especially if you happen to live in Seattle. [http://www.thedenveregotist.com/sites/www.thedenveregotist.com/files/images/rovio-angry-birds-space-seattle-slingshot-catapulte_4.img_assist_custom-480x581.jpg] Though I must admit, the marketing for the games is pretty obnoxious.
