FFX-2

Hardly a great game(story was ok at best and the fan service was overdone + unnecessary) but the gameplay was fine and overall it was a pretty decent game. Yet people seem to want to burn it with fire and/or wish it out of existence. Just never saw how it creates the extreme hate that it does.

OT: Mass Effect 3 - sure the ending wasn't amazing but it was fairly average, but people say the entire game sucked because of it.
Have you ever bitten into a piece of cake (or other delicious treat), only to discover minutes later the entire center of the cake was eaten out by cockroaches/other bugs?
I would add: Whilst noticing half a cockroach in the piece of cake you just heartily bit into.

I know a lot of people who dislike electronic music (techno, drance, dance...) and i don't get why. Some say they lack the lyrics but i find lyrics in most songs silly, stupid or depressing. I actually like the fact that i can think of lyrics that fit the music and decide on my own what i'm supposed to feel.

Nickleback
Creed
Lincoln Park
Justin Beiber
Techno Music
Dubstep
Barbeque sauce pizza
Apple Products
Microsoft Products

Funny how most of my list is music based. Now, before someone says something along the lines of "What? You like Beiber? You must be !" no, I do not like Beiber, I just don't listen to him. I understand not liking a specific artist/singer/band/whatever, but calling them everything up to the Spawn of Satan is just a bit much. Nickleback sounds alright to me, Creed I actually like (GASP!), Lincoln Park I used to like, Techno Music is alright (but is stupidly associated with "party drug" use), and Dubstep is tolerable (though, conversely, I also don't know why it's so popular).

Also, all but two of my friends seem to think that barbeque sauce based pizza is an atrocious
abomination to everything pizza. I say they're wrong, oh well.

As per the last bit, insert comment about Mac vs. PC fanboyism here. Use what you want to use; I personally will not think less of you for using an iPhone over a Windows Phone, or a Mac over a PC. However, I do think more of people who run Linux, so there's that. ;)

Captcha: agree to disagree

How fitting.

I think Green Day are an awesome band, especially their most recent album.
I think it's more that they aren't punk anymore. I don't understand it either, I think their most recent 3 albums are far better than their earlier work. My favorite of which is warning which is their least popular album.
Also their new albums coming out over the next few months are looking awesome.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a big one for me. I never understood exactly why people disliked it so much. The only criticism people seem to tell me is that "it has aliens", which doesn't seem like a good enough justification to so vehemently hate it.
PLINKETT VIDEOS TO THE RESCUE!

No joke though, this pretty much outlines the finer details of why it wasn't very good, but wasn't a huge disaster either.

I know MovieBob said something against using these videos to state one's point, but for me at least, it's the only way to do so without writing a paragraph.

a thing that is disliked by people...where you don't get what all hate is about

for me its Linkin Parks Album "Thousand Suns"

while I wouldnt call myself a "fan" I did like linkin parks stuff, from when I was a kid up untill now..."minutes to midnight" was their first "departure" from their usual sound (more mainstream rock I supose)...I didnt mind it but it was kind of boring

Thousand Suns came after and from what I can gather angered the "fans" even more (not sure what the overall consensus on minutes to midnight was) and this what I dont get

I thourght Thousands Suns was great, prticualy the first track I heard "The Catlyist",

I love the synths...the cyberpunk feel, nowdays it reminds me so much of ME3 I actually have a hard time listening (bringing up all those negative feelings) before that it reminded me of Deus Ex

see before Linkin Parks range just generally felt like "I'M REALLY REALLY UPSET WITH [B/]YOU[/B]" <-whever this "you" was I don't know but it was always some specific person they were upset with

where as this the scale just feels..."grander"...dare I say more "epic" this is conflict on a world scale

and of coarse some of the other tracks

Blackout is my second favorite, to me it sounds a little closer to "old" linkin park but I like it purley for its music and just the raw insanity (pretensious I know)

their latest "Living things" is good, but its not quite the same..I guess I prefered their "experiemental" aproach
Because they got soft, but a lot of bands do that. Hybrid Theory and Meteora have all of their good heavy stuff. Minutes to Midnight has a few good heavy ones. Not saying I just like heavy music, I love slow stuff too especially when I'm in the mood. But in my opinion they got way to soft. I don't hate their new stuff, but I'm not crazy about it either. I still like them as a band.

I think Nick Cage has the same problem as Robin Williams. They're decent actors, but they choose the worst movies to star in.

I don't understand why people seem to hate Shattered Horizon so much. Every time I boot it up to look for populated servers (and don't find any) at least one person on my steam list has to harass me about it.

I realize the weapon variety was pretty basic, and the game wasn't as expansive or deep when compared to some modern FPSs. Though the gameplay, and six degrees of freedom made for awesome fights and almost limitless attack paths. There were sniper hides all over, stealth was a viable tactic, and there were plenty of tight spaces to fight and "run" through. I always found the game engaging, immersive, and above all else fun...

Too bad its essentially dead.

Driving the Mako in Mass Effect. Lots of people seem to think it was just awful and unplayable, but not only did I have no trouble with it, I had a hell of a time in the Mako levels and I liked the exploration more than in either of the other MEs.

I change my mind...

Anita Sarkeesian!

*Erects anti-shitstorm bunker*

Sure she could probably go about what she's doing witha tad more grace and efficiency but seriously wtf, guys? You could go around what you do with a hell of a lot more grace...

Hypothetically if a woman told you rape was wrong would threaten to rape them.
If someone said they felt a certain demographic had been misrepresented and that maybe people could be a bit better about it would you then rape them.
If someone expressed they had strong feelings towards something and that they wanted like minded people to contribute to helping get that opinion out there would you make a flash game in which you beat them bloody?
If someone said something you didn't like but that didn't effect you in the least would you try and ruin their lives?

Everyone who took part in that whole anti-Anita extremist... Thing makes me sick!

(Also dat ass, that rack, them lips those games!)

Nickleback. I like their stuff, and their live shows are pretty cool. Yet just about the entire internet acts as if the band is worse than ass-fucking a child using a dead cat as a condom while beating up women. And then throwing up in their face. They get a disgusting amount of hate, and most of the time, there isn't even a legitimate reason aside from 'because they are as bad as "ass-fucking a child using a dead cat as a condom while beating up women.". I, honestly, have yet to hear a serious reason why people consider them the scourge of the music industry, especially when something like Nicki Minaj (SP?) is more popular.
With this in mind, what's everyone's issue with Nicki Minaj?

I mean, she releases two of the best pop songs of the whole year, but you release one hilariously bad rap song (that never made it to radio) and suddenly, everyone calls for your head.

Hey. Vampire's Kiss is my favorite movie of all time.

Don't be dissing the Cage's choice of roles, now.

Her music is shallow. I'm not talking about the sound of her music (Since she herself doesn't actually make the noises), but the content of her songs. I've heard four songs from the radio once, and each of them seemed very...self focused and uncaring. I didn't pay enough attention to the names of the songs, or have yet to look anything else of hers up, but of those four songs, not one of them seemed every remotely worth...well, existing.

Granted, one can say this about any band simply because they don't agree with the message of the song, but there has to be a line drawn. In a Nickleback song, man breaks up with woman. He either wants her back, or moves on. IN a Nickie Minaj song, man breaks up with woman, he's the biggest dick even though it sounds like she kind of deserved it and he wasn't happy, but it's okay to go around and sleep with his friends and whatnot.

That's my problem with Minaj, but I can't speak for everyone else. I dunno, maybe it's because she's black? (I kid, I kid...)

not sure I agree with "soft"....

they may be less heavy..but you know what? I find thousands suns [b/]a hell of a lot[/b] darker than anything they did before...it really got under my skin that that regard (particually the segway peice "wisdom justice and love")

to me I guess traditional guitars are just....generic

alot of rap IS shallow in subject matter (very much a genre thing) of coarse that doesnt make the usuall shallowness in "pop rock" like nickleback any better,

and although I can't stand that ussually..somtimes [/i]it can work[/i]

when she's at her best Nicki Minaj is just all out crazy, like her verse in Kanyes "Monster"

I mean yeah shes very "pop" thease days....however I think her best song is "moment 4 life" which while still "shallow" I think has some heart to it..I especially love her little "singing bit in the middle"

Drake can just fuck off though...

furries

I just don't get why there is so much hate toward them
yes the are some that have weird fetishes but not the majority of them

but seriously sometimes its like furries are to the internet as gays are to the west bureau baptist church
