I fail to see how this is funny.

Sometimes, it's embarrassing to see what people will try to pass off as comedy. You see others laugh, but all you can do is sit there wondering to yourself, How is this funny? How does this elicit laughter? It worries you how some people will think certain material qualifies as humorous. Frightens you, perhaps. Or it just confuses you.

<color=blue>Have you ever come across something that others find hilarious, yet you yourself find humorless? If so, which ones strike you as the most confusing?

Atop the Fourth Wall has this effect on me. I just don't see how Linkara is considered funny. Perhaps I'm not familiar enough with comics to appreciate his style, but then again, it's not as though his schtick is made up of nothing but references to comics, like he's the Dennis Miller of graphic novels. His jokes just fall flat, pure and simple.

Another example is Game Dogs. Do I even need to elaborate?

EDIT:

Let's leave Dane Cook out of this. He's too obvious an answer.
:( No love for Linkara?

I think his sarcasm is what makes him funny. And he works really well with Spoony.

As for something that makes me wonder, newspaper comics. Those aren't funny. They aren't even worth a chuckle, they're just confusing. The last one I laughed at was Foxtrot, and that was long ago.

All that random crap people seem to think is so funny. Seriously, how is random funny? It's just random. It shows that writers had no original ideas so they decided to go for a cop-out that, unfortunately, works wonders (SpongeBob Squarepants, anybody?).

I was gonna say Dane Cook, but that's just too easy.

Anyway, I do have another answer. Have you, as a sober person, ever been around a bunch of stoners? If you have, then that's a perfect example.
Yes, I don't know what I want to do more...kill myself or them.

On topic, Lee Evans. How is that man funny?

Fred from youtube.

I know I shouldn't be suprised about it seeing as how stupid most youtube users are, but seriously, how in the fuck is that even considered to be comedy.
Totally agreee! A guy fastforwarding videos about him not being funny, does not make it funny.

I have a pretty broad sense of humour. Slapstick, randomness, shock humour, witty puns and subtle jokes, all are good to me.

However, I could not bring myself to watch Napoleon Dynamite.

I did once know a person who said that Monty Python, Who's Line is it Anyway? and Red Dwarf were all completely unfunny.

Scary Movie and all the sequels. Most comedians. Most of Adult Swim.

EDIT: Napoleon Dynamite was also shit.

Napoleon Dynamite. Most of my friends think it's funny, I'm just sitting there like "This is the worst movie EVER."

Also, that guy on Youtube who randomly yells curses and other things, I think it's just sad.
God, I hate that movie too. Just watching the first twelve minutes made my balls ache from the stupid. If I wanted to see someone monotone their lines then I would bring my buddies over when they get high and yell at them for an hour and a half.
or there is Stephen Wright. He does it......correctly. Napoleon Dynamite is half-assed at best with something that can be simple to make, it still takes effort.

Two and a Half Men. What could have been counter-culture and a satire of men in the present (similar to Sex and the City-a good show-with women) proves that Chuck Lorre is stuck in the early nineties with situation comedy formula.

The Lonely Island. Simply not funny, I'm On a Boat is annoying and worse than what they are sending up.

and Dane Cook.

Spongebob to me only got bad after Season 3 and the movie. Unfortunately, that means there's a majority of non-funnies.

Spongebob has gone down the drain.
I don't know if it's that when it premiered we were younger (It premiered over 10 years ago) and we laughed at that stuff, but the new episodes are just mind-numbing awful.

Slapstick humour and all derivatives and relatives. I simply fail to see the humour in other peole getting hurt.
watch The Three Stooges. If you don't laugh at least a little bit during it... you just have no soul.

I have never been more confused in humor styles more than when I have people try to get me interested in anime, and show me 'hilarious' parts... I just dont get it

Everyone has different sense of humours.I for example find childish things funny while others find rude things funny.Everyone has different opinions on what they see as a "good sense of humour" and i give respect to people who find many things funny as atleast they have a good funny bone. But to answer your question i'd say mr bean.My friend find's it histerical and even i with a childish sense of humour dont find it that funny but of course that just me.

Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, etc, as a whole are NOT FUNNY.
Adult Swim shows including. Also Two and a Half Men, The Office, Superbad, The Hangover and the like.

I do enjoy XKCD though - while not funny, some bits are somewhat clever.
I think the only time I ever laughed at Spongebob was an incident where he kept getting mauled by Patrick while he was asleep due to a nightmare about spiders. Other than that, no.

Anything that has to do with, and I mean no offense here fellas, but "frat boy humor".

Seriously. Adam Sandler and his ilk? Not funny.

Superbad and other movies like that? Not funny.

I just don't get that low-brow "humor" I guess, I want something a bit more dark and/or intelligent. =/

I agree with this. To extend it a bit, I find that most movies and whatnot like this wind up having one or two jokes redone through the entire movie over and over again. Usually: 'Main character is/has , watch the monkey dance.'

Does everything on this site have to be funny?

Maybe game dogs is just interesting to watch?

I mean....it isn't, but still.
I don't think that everything on this site needs to be funny, it just seems that a lot of the non-news content seems to go that way not that there's nothing serious here, I mean there was There Will Be Brawl, which while it made me laugh the odd time seemed to take a more serious tone, and that's just to name one thing.
