It's probably fine. Also, I assume when you said torch you mean a flashlight. At least that is what we call it in the States. It's just funny hearing it called a torch. =P

I'm sure the little guy's fine.
Those things are tough, so he'll probably be okay.
Not as tough as the Honey Badger [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg] though >.>

Anyway, I find it nice that someone is so worried about another animal.
You don't see that too often nowadays, so props to ya, OP :D

The hedgehog is fine. But check your dog's mouth for puncture wounds. If you see any take him to the vet immediately that's a good way to get an infection.

Torch is up there with fringe (bangs) in British terms that always throw me off.

my dad had a hedgehog ... a wild one that he nursed back to health one time and it just kept coming back to see him at his alottment would even let me hold it.

it tried to get under some sheets of glass my dad had leaned against a wall in his shed when no one was there and they mustve slipped.

yeah flat hog.

The cuteness factor running rampant again. Nobody thinks twice about setting out mouse traps, but wants desperately to help the cute little hedgehog.

I'm not going to go out of my way to kill an animal that I don't plan to eat or don't need to eliminate as a pest, but I am not going to feel terrible for the animal that darts under my tire at the last minute, or even less my responsibility, that an animal I own killed.

People find hairless dogs cute. Doesn't mean I have to as well.

Through I get the impression you get what I am getting at. Rats are pests, but slap a fuzzy tail on one and people think it's cute and it's suddenly wrong to kill them to eliminate them as pests.

If that hedgehog could be killed by your small, domesticated animal, it probably wouldn't have survived long in the wild anyway.

At least that's what I tell myself when my dog kills things.
I don't know about that, koalas lay around and sleep 22 hours of the day and somehow they survived.

Life is stupid.

Foxes are also pests and are often killed ("managed") on that basis. Foxes are very cute and have fuzzy tails.

I'm guessing they're alive because dingoes can't climb trees.

Good. I told the dog off and he's currently sulking on a blanket next to my desk. I reckon I'll need to keep him shut in at night during the summer. He's a jack russell so he's pretty fearless. Had a standoff with a fox that was prowling through our front garden once... Lucky he wasn't killed.
Didn't know Britain was such a jungle of nightmarish creatures. A hedgehog, a fox, a Jack Russel oh my!
It's the great thing about living here. The deadliest wild animal we have is an adder. A snake that can barely kill children.
Hedgehogs actually kill and eat Adders. Charming little things they are.

If he is still around, give him something to eat ^^
It's a really bad idea to give any wild animal food.
Sorry for late reply, ya know it usually isn't a good idea but we are talking about a hedgehog here :p

My family is a restaurant for foxes, hedgehogs, birds and...well that's about it really, we never had any trouble with any of them.

If its gone, i'ms ure its fine. They dont tend to move much if they're injured (I woul guess, we dont have hedgehogs in America, though I wish we did, they're awesome).
