I remember playing that game growing up and cursing the water level.

By some act of God I finally got passed that bit, and realized the bullshit train was still around. I quit the game not long after that.

Turtles in Time and the arcade game were a hell of a lot better and way more fun than that piece of shit.

Honestly aside from Turtles in Time, was there any other good TMNT game?
The Manhattan Project on NES is amazing. In my opinion, even better than Turtles in Time.

Yes, including the water part at the damn.
I actually got really good at the water part. Because when I was young games were a rarity, when you got one you played it no matter how broken and borderline unplayable it was. TMNT was at least playable for the most part but that water section took almost pixel perfect movement and practice makes perfect.

I also got really good at the speeder bit in Battletoads.

Demon's/Dark Souls fans you know nothing of frustration and pain. I doubt I could do either now though.

Yeah, I got good at TMNT, I got good at Battletoads, I even got good at Dick Tracy. Don't know if I could beat any of them today, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm an adult now, and I don't want to dedicate that kind of time to learning a game in and out like that. Especially now when I can blow up my friends on the internets.

The NES one? I beat that as a kid loved that game but that water level was ridiculous. I never beat battletoads though absolutely hated the turbo tunnel.

I dont think Nostalgia has ever really clouded my judgement every time I go back a game is just as I remembered with the exception being Bubble Bobble (played on C64) used to love this game but when I went back a few years ago the controls felt really stiff and delayed luckily I have the remake on game boy advance and that plays just like I remember the original playing.

Apart from the controls not being quite as fluid as I remember the game was just as charming and fun as ever.
