Yes, this thread is almost nothing but pointless self-congratulatory wanking mixed with response-bait, but then again my new avatar is awesome.
But, to give this thread a semblance of a raison d'etre [sub][sub]read: "a thinly-veiled excuse for existing" coded in the shroud of intellectual wankery[/sub][/sub]

Erm, I finished watching Ergo Proxy today[footnote]as I said earlier [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.389139-Ergo-Proxy-SPOILERS-lets-see-what-I-understood]...but nobody wants to share the moment with me, so that's sort of a shameless self promotion[/footnote] and the "raison d'etre" seems like a reference, but maybe it's just coincidental. The show was really generous in throwing the phrase around and it did sound like it was just shrouded in intellectual wankery.

Because I have interest toward that character (she's evil and cute in a way) and it's unquie. Name me another username with the exact same animated gif avatar! (I asked someone to make it for me since it from a clip from an episode).
I also choice to display it when her popularity died down as in when several users had an Queen Chrysalis related avatar aswell (I didn't feel unquie if I had used that avatar of her when several else had her at the same time).

OT: I joined the Star Fox group a while ago, and while I liked my avatar somebody had to go and call me lazy for not updating it to the new specs. So I asked the Avatar Shop group to make a new one, and Caramel made one for me.

Read a thread ages ago about someone discussing the merits of using your own face as your avatar. Cant remember the points exactly made, but I recall being impressed so changed my avatar to a photo of me.
