I'm really not too surprised about this. Another lousy port. I HATE console ports. If a game is going to be released for the PC, then is should be developed on the PC!

I was thinking about picking this game up, but I think I will pass now. I have GRAW 2, and it was fairly disappointing. The AI is idiotic and the campaign kinda just goes... without explaining anything particularly important.

I heard it's absolutely awful, yeah. One of the youtubers I like has pretty much the best pc you can get, it's godlike. He was getting 30-40 frames.
-_-
What's wrong with that? 24 FPS is the standard for film and television.
Because it simply doesn't work when you control the camera.

60 FPS is the minimum I need to avoid the dreaded lagging feel.

Also, because motion blur works with a movie, again, because it's controlled and not overdone. When there's too much motion blur, people complain.

In a game, motion blur is disorienting and annoying at any amount above "minimal". The way to counteract motion blur is with a high FPS.

You know what is funny? The unpatched version that was leaked a week before release was smooth as silk. No mouse lag, the frame rate didn't chug along. . .good job Ubi.

I swear they do this on purpose, just to make up shit about pirates.
Correct. Heard it on the grapevine, and confirmed it myself. Not only was the pirated version available a week prior, it also runs much, much better.

This is the game which originally wasn't going to come to PC because the project lead said we were all pirates.

LOL.
Maybe he secretly wants it that way? It's becoming quite the self-fulfilling prophecy, as now the pirates not only avoid the obnoxious DRM, they also have the better game - a week earlier.

They use copious amounts of motion blur to compensate... for now. Once The Hobbit comes out and everyone sees how amazing a decent frame-rate can be that might change.

An i5 3550 and a 570 would still outpace most PCs out there though.
Perhaps, but it's not one of those "godlike" computers people seem to claim they have but still getting 20-30-ish FPS. Then again, it COULD be a fault at Ubisoft not having the game properly optimized.
