this was an abomination. maybe your childhood memories are to blame? I dunno. anyway, this game being terrible its why there was no donkey kong main series games for so long, and that when they finally announced one, they went back to the DKC formula. its not a coincidence...

Wouldn't happen to have anything to do with DK being primarily made by Rare by chance? =3

No crappy 3D Mega Man games to speak of, especially released on the PS2 with a 7 on the end.
On a side note, I never understood why 7 gets such a bad rap. Yeah, it wasn't the greatest game in the series, but right before it was 6... Now THAT was awful. Given the choice between 6 and 7, I'd pick 7 every time.

Now, back to the N64, if Mega Man 64 is actually Mega Man Legends, then yes. You must absolutely play that game. It's a little weird at first, but give it some time and hopefully you will love it.
Mega Man X7 is crappy. Mega Man X6 is AN ABOMINATION. I absolutely agree with you, and 6 deserves more hate than 7. That doesn't change the fact that 7 sucked. 8 was decent, though.

But seriously, Mega Man Legends is amazing.

As you can probably tell from the subject, I came across my old N64 and it still works perfectly, as if it was the day I got it! So, i have a fair amount of cash handy and an ebay account. what suggestions for good games do you guys have? I already own, Star-Fighters: Vanishing Earth, and Harvest Moon 64.
Goldeneye and three extra controllers.

Star Wars: Pod Racer! On top of all the other great games that have been mentioned. At least I think the game was good, been a long time since I played it.

You have your opinion, I have mine.
Telling me that you didn't like a game doesn't mean everyone has to hate it, and it doesn't make it bad.
Also, Rare stopped, and that stopped DK creation for a while.

I have my own Nintendo 64 safely stored. Alot of memorable games have been purchased during the 90s.

My personal favourite is Mario Gokart 64, the first racing game that was enjoyable to play. Up until just recently has it been the only racing game I've owned. Apart from that there's alot of puzzle/adventure games that I never finished. How could they be so cruel to an innocent child?

It pays off holding onto these things. I might wait a decade or two and sell it to a museum!

Must have games
Golden Eye
Perfect Dark
Duck Dogers (if only to own it)

Other than those the games listed earlier are a good start. It is not that I am A FPS freak but I was raised by james bond and joanna dark.

Good old N64! Apart from all the great games that have already been mentioned I would have to add:
Star Wars Pod Racer. That was such a fun racing game. I loved how you could go so fast in that game once you upgraded you parts all the way. It was such a fun thrill trying to go as fast as you can without crashing, weaving and dodging through the trails. And of course the faster you went the harder it was to avoid crashing. It was so exciting to keep pushing that envelope of danger and speed.
Best game ever. EVER.

On the other hand, you could buy Superman 64. If you were suicidal. Other than that, everythings probably been mentioned.

I'm not denying that X7 isn't a good game... I just never understood why most people always point at it for the worst one, when the pile of fecal matter that is X6 is standing right next to it, jumping up and down screaming "pick me!"

And yes, Mega Man Legends is fantastic. There's a reason why people are looking for a 3rd game in the series so many years after Legends 2 came out.

I have to agree... Donkey Kong 64 was terrible. And honestly, I'd say that pretty much all of Rare's games are overrated. They're pretty good, but not the best things ever people always want to make them out as.
That's probably not why they didn't make another Donkey Kong game for so long though.

I will not Repeat like the Rest

Turok2 for the N64 was just Fun the Multiplayer was great you can chase a monkey with little health around and he can make monkey sounds but he is real fast
and the Cerebral Bore works great with him and the Single Player is fantastic
