When people start a sentence by saying things like "actually..." or "not many people know that...", and you just know it's some shit they read on a vandalised Wikipedia page.

'Maybe', its a no unless you can talk to them in person. Its just a no that makes me hate you.
I completely agree with you, but!

nah, just joking with one of the previous posters ^^
I was thinking the same, 'maybe means no'
I'm actually gonna edit this to say:

I completely agree with you, but

Maybe often means yes when I say it. It means "go away and let me think so I can make a good decision."

"Trust me, I know what I'm talking about."

That one is especially delicious to me because I find myself forced to say it more often then I'd like despite me almost never trusting it when it comes out of another persons mouth.
That's a good one. Because thinking back to all the times I have said that to someone - I have never known what I was talking about. I say that when I am trying to convince someone to do something they shouldn't do.
Oddly I'm the exact opposite of that, I never utter the phrase unless I'm DAMN sure I'm right about what I'm saying.

Anyway, what's another good one...

Oh!

"No, I'm NOT angry."

My sisters get that one from my Mother a lot.
Even worse, "I'm not angry!" "I'm just disappointed!"

when the New Moon trailer said "based off the best book series ever written", i almost hurled.
They need to stop letting Stephanie Meyer write her own promos.

OT: The phrase I'm Sorry but... and goes on to list why they hated this thing. I never get a sense of sincerity from it. people use it as a free pass to bash something.

"Specially built for tough Australian conditions."

Frequently appears in advertisements, especially ads for 4WD cars.

Actually, I've always wanted to know, do other countries have their own version of this? Because "built for tough French conditions" just sounds bizarre.

So many times this has happened.

When every anyone mentions religious motivation for something, I try not to be biased but religion has always been something I have avoided.

"Based on real life events"

It's usually added into horror films like that shitty "The Fourth Kind," or something. The real life event was a girl going missing in Alaska. It's a desperate attempt to get people to watch crappy stuff because some tard might think it was real.

"We expect to release Starcraft II sometime in..."

With "Starcraft II" replaceable with Duke Nukem, HL2E3, etc.

"I'm not racist but..."

"I'm not homophobic but..."

Yeah, but you are though, so why don't you just not say whatever shit you were about to?

Anything printed by the Daily Mail makes me automatically think "And where did they pull that 'fact' from?"
This. If anyone ever needs a daily dose of stupid, look at the front headline of the Daily Mail.

VIDEO GAMES CUT OFF DISABLED ELDERLY LADY'S BENEFITS CAUSING FALL IN HOUSE PRICES

The Daily Mail - Being casually racist in public so you don't have to be.
Ha ha ha, nice one. If you managed to work the term "Asylum Seekers" in it, that would have been a perfect Daily Mail headline.

"gimme a minute bro I'll get right right on it"

No you won't. Why tell me you will? Why lie to me when I ask you in 3 days if you've done anything with it? Why get other people involved in a fashion that makes you look like you actually did something? Why say "Oh, well, I was waiting for the go-ahead from Tom" or "I contacted Shaniqua, but she never got back to me about it, so instead I've been doing nothing the past 3 days and figured I wouldn't mention it to you" or "Well, I have a team working on this project though I didn't even read what you told me to tell them, and the lead..."

I'll stop.
