I get why Dragon Age 2 gets lousy user reviews.

Lately, Dragon Age 2 have recieved decent reviews by critics, but the players butcher it. I have played the game for a couple of hours and I get why.
IT'S BROKEN!
And I don't mean like poor gameplay, I mean that it is so buggy it's hard to play. Melee-characters that isn't controled by the player dosen't move. Ranged charcters don't shoot. The only character that does something is the one the player is using. This is a flaw that shouldn't exist. Even if they fix this and several other bugs, no game should be released in an unplayable state.
That's at least my thory on why they get lousy reviews.
Also Bioware has recieved tons of complains about this, but have still to fix it.

8+ hours in and I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing like what your are saying has happened.

My only complaint is that there isn't as much character development in the allies because I have to go through a load screen to see each one.

Well I've been playing plenty of DAII and have had no severe problems with it. My team is functioning superbly, and the story has been enjoyable. Plus, it's a bit ridiculous that all those negative reviews on day one are because the game's bad. Most, I think, are just gamers that are angry with the changes made. I'm sorry that you've been having gameplay issues though, but Bioware can't really fix them on day two of the release.

I haven't had any problems with that. The only bug I've received is that the music during battles is replaced with some screeching or other, and that's easily solved.

And besides, think that's bad? Just think of New Vegas when it was released.

I haven't had any bugs.

Then again, haven't had any story, interesting setting, choices, fun battles, or engaging conversations with team-mates either.

Yeah, simple fix. Turn the auto-attack on. That'll solve those problems....

Do you have the PC version?

Are you referring to the PC version? PS3? Xbox 360? Further, are you one of the people who had the signature edition? If so, how much of the DLC have you collected? How much have you equipped? How much have you sold?

I've put in nearly 6 hours and everything is working fine on my end. Playing Sig-Ed on a 360, with the DLC downloaded and, in use. I haven't run into anything worse then a couple of frame-rate slowdowns and that was towards the tail-end of my 6 hour spree.

I remember back when New Vegas came out and it seemed like a majority of those bugs were present on the PS3 version (especially if you used the pre-order DLC) same with Fallout 3. I understand that New Vegas is a completely different game by a completely different development team but I'm just trying to point out that on big multiplatform games, there's always that one system that gets hit by bugs. Pinpointing the problem will be especially difficult because of all of the versions of the game that are out!

Xbox360: Regular & Sig-Ed
PS3: Regular & Sig-Ed
PC: Regular & Sig-Ed

That's 6 versions of the same game. Couple that with preorder exclusive DLC and the fact that certain people (like me) could have easily got their hands on sig-ed without a preorder and finding the exact problem is going to be time consuming in a big way

Didn't mean to post a text wall...or ramble quite that much...it happens

The game is flawed... not nearly as flawed as the spelling in the original post (ba dum tish... seriously though... I'm in no way a spelling nazi but this was terrible... learn to tense)

On a more serious note, my game had pretty bad bugs when going into combat, the music wasn't even on half the time and my ranged fighter jsut sat there coughing... he didn't seem to care that I was being mauled (quite literally)

Then again... knowing Bioware they are already hard at work sorting these problems (if they are universal) however, knowing Bioware, these patches won't come overnight

Been playing 8 hours and 51 minutes and not experienced 1 problem with it. So I don't know what your talking about because all my companions do what they're supposed to do.

You probably have "hold position" on if none of your characters are moving. And, besides, you can easily order your team mates around.

Ugh, New Vegas. I fell through the map. -_-"

I loved New Vegas, but the bugs were super lame.

That being said, I haven't had any problems with DAII. I have had no bugs to report.

Which raises another problem... why wasn't New Vegas panned as awful by the overwhelming majority upon release, while DA2 was, if the OP is right?

I've only played it a bit and all my characters are very well trashing the enemies I'm coming up against. Good thing too, as any enemy with a life bar bigger than the small one is slightly more than my rogue can handle at this point. I'm getting the hang of combat, though I'm not sure how I feel about button mashing. Maybe if you could link combos together, but I suppose that will happen when I unlock more skills. My only two complaints are that female Hawk needs to learn how NOT to run like a school girl when she's not holding her weapons and the graphics, to me, seem to suffer from that "they're almost too sharp" feeling. Probably just graphic shock and adjustment on my part. I'm sure I'll stop noticing eventually.

Just met Merill. I have a new favorite character. :)

Agreed. Having to hunt down my allies for bonding time is making me miss the camp.
