I got sucked in... AGAIN! (Games that you always come back to)

So... while im waiting for my "Metal Arms: Glitch in the System" to arrive, i started playing Saints Row 2 to pass the time.

now ive already sunk more than 50 hours into it (finished the story in about 12) and i thought, "eh... might as well take a stroll in the town, see whats up."

then, i get sucked in again. im instinctively jacking cars, gunning down shops, and holding up random passersby before throwing them into oncoming traffic

im gonna stop here now because i wanna re-enact a scene from the Terminator in Stillwater right now, but what games are just SO GOOD to you that you just keep playing them LOOONG after you're "finished"

Saints Row 2 as well its just so fun and addicting. Also most sports games when I do franchise mode.

Half-Life 2, Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 are my go-to timesinks. Mass Effect 2 is my current addiction, and I'm loving every second.

I recently hooked back up my good ol' SNES... and the save files in my Chrono Trigger cartridge were gone...
So I play it about once a week for an hour or two trying to get back up to speed with all of the +game endings viewed.

Fallout 3 and oblivion was brilliant for role playing characters or stories of mine loooooooong after completing them.

Hurbrit, The great bearded knuckle fighter with a big heart but was addicted to nuka cola (If he didn't get he go raging on a super-mutants ass).

Or Bori, the lovable nord who simply traded tableware, with a bloodlust to kill wood elfs >. Yes weird i know but I had fun dammit!

Mass Effect, Dragon Age, STALKER, Borderlands, Pokemon Silver, Mount and Blade Warband, Rome Total War...


The list could go on. Anything with nostalgic value is an easy winner here.

Holy crap I'm doing the same thing! I was waiting for Black Ops to come out (disapointed with it) so I popped in Saints row 2! Great game and it never looses its fun.

I keep going back to Just Cause 2 and chip away at it, eventually I'll get 100%
Other games I keep going back to include Zelda: Link to the Past, Arkham Asylum and Kingdom Hearts 2, I've finished them all multiple times but they're so damn fun I replay them.

Go old school! I must fire up CT again sometime.

It depends on my mood whether I'm up for an epic RPG or a rampage through the city with GTA. But I usually go back through the consoles like the NES/SNES and play the crap out of them until I want something modern.

Oblivion, Mass Effect 1&2, Fable 2, Dead Space... and one of my all time favorites that I unfortunately never completely finished: Legend of Legaia for the PS1. Don't know, I had played it since I was little; it's the reason I got into RPGs in the first place. Easily logged like 80 hours or something before I stopped playing. Perhaps its time to get a PS2 and throw it in... >

Forgot to mention Shadow of the Colossus. God that was a fraking good game. :')
