CAtherine
Dragon age origins /2
Your list is great with one exception. As an owner of FFXII, I would only recommend that game only if you were a fan of the other Final Fantasies and thought to yourself "I wonder what FF would be like if they took everything and just made it shit? Just with better graphics so I can clearly see the shit as it seeps into my brain and robs me of will to live"
Just my opinion tho.
Well said. Also let's have a hooray for FF13-2! Now with QTEs in your boring monotonous "Auto-Battles".

Metal Gear Solid.

They're releasing 2,3, and Peace Walker remakes in HD for PS3 and Xbox.

If you have a Playstation 3 or PSP you can snag Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid 1 as well.

Red Dead Redemption is a great third person game. It has everything beautiful environments, excellent combat, memorable stories and characters. It is a Rockstar game so essentially Grand Theft Auto but in the wild west, not that that is a bad thing.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

With the extra added fun of being able to go into FPS mode and shoot! YAY!
Have you ever tried to aim in VtMB?

Try it and believe me you'll switch to first person in five minutes as soon as you switch from the SMG to something like the pistol/shotgun.

That game is very poorly optimized for gunplay, even in first person.

Who knows, QTEs might make it better. I might not be able to beat almost anything by closing my eyes and hugging a pillow over my head with one hand while just pressing X with the other. I sincerely wish I was kidding...

Mini Ninja's

A really good action adventure game with stealth elements, very addictive, very fun.

Also, Demon's Souls. Tho I wouldn't quite call it easy... or simple... or forgiving... as a matter of fact, the only thing that qualifies it on this list is that it's third person. Forget I said anything. I certainly will...
I'm under the impression that anyone who plays Demons Souls is a masochist or at least a closet masochist. :)

I never got to play it because of the PS3 exclusivity, but I hear Dark Souls is by the same people and it's for the 360. I just have to make sure and get it on the cheap or I'm liable to break it from the rage that will fill me. Cathartic, cathartic rage.

Demon's Souls is the only game I've owned for over a year and haven't finished. I kinda shied away when i realized I was pulling out chunks of hair in frustration and swearing so loudly my neighbors called asking me if I was alright... Other than that tho it's great if you love games considerably more than you do yourself and I'd recommend you get it. I'm absolutely not just saying that to drag other ppl to the psych ward with me... *twitch twitch*

Grand theft auto:san andreas has a really good story, or you could drive around and shoot cops.
I hesitantly recommend the Sabatour. A game were you play as an Irish guy helping to foster the french resistance during WW2. Story is good but filled with war cliches.
If you like that sort of thing, tony hawks american wasteland (a skater game) was praised for having an above average story that meshes well with the game-play.(strangely one of my most replayed games)
Dead rising 2 is damn good fun, but the story is actually quite standard and downright weird at times.
The Dragon Age games are good but i almost feel as if its too much story...(casts suspicious glances in every direction)
Last but not least is Red Faction:Gorilla. the game-play is amazing, fun, and barely ever boring, but the story takes a huge backseat, it always left me wanting more from the developed characters.

EDIT: some of these games are a bit old but all are still great fun
That's all i have of the top of my head, hope you find what your looking for!

You deserve a cookie.

OT: Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, Amnesia: The Dark Descent (it's first person, but about as far from an FPS as you can get)

You can try something like Just Cause 2, but you probably already have seeing as you're on the escapist.

I'd only be impressed if they both:
- Removed "Auto-Battle" for obvious reasons.
- Have some sort of secondary effect to each battle queue. Even something as simple as physical attacks making you slightly more vulnerable to magic while you perform the action.
