So... As a non american i would like to know what Cermaics class is...?
Then i might come up with a suitable answer...
You make things out of ceramic, therefore it is a ceramics class. Sometime called a clay or pottery class.

or basically, make an extra large "Thing"...
Awesome idea! I concur! Do this!

Also, for my own suggestion, a giant Lego figure :)

Gravity Gun perhaps? Maybe a miniature Deathclaw? Or you could always do something akin to one of the Personality Spheres from Portal.

If you really want to be a true clay master, you'd make a golem.

For ceramics, I made Gene Simmons and a smurf. They came out pretty damn good. These are my suggestions.

1)up-side down ghost from Pac-man, any color because it would seem easy to do ceramically.

2) Pikachu

3) the imp on escapist.

4) a perfect apple or close to. There was a period when students would give teachers apples to kiss up to them, basically in the name of good health.

5) ashtray in the design of a water well.

6) a bust of a bosom, but not detailed, with detailed a pink ribbon where one end starts just underneath one bosom curves up between the cleavage and the apex of the curve is where the neck line would be, down back into the cleavage and ending up underneath the other bosom in support for the breast cancer foundation(something like that). I apologize if this doesn't make sense. I tried, forget it.

7) snoopy on top of his doghouse as the red baron or just him sleeping on top of it.

8) pot of gold, leprechaun style

9) sand castle

10) a mouse, the computer input device one.

A Zergling!
A Zombie Bursting from its grave!
Twin Cooling Towers on an Old Nuclear Power Plant!
A Melting Face!
A Sword in the Stone (Arthur's, Arthas's, or Link's)!
Two large, smooth butt cheeks!

You could go with a live size Venusaur... or a smaller pokemon if that brings any nostalgia to you...
Also I made a small model of the Statue of Liberty in my art class which was really challenging but I got a 10 (highest score) from it so it was rewarding.

My last ceramics class I started doing a series of Phoenix Wright busts. You could do that. I did poses of the lawyers pointing. Rather of Phoenix Wright pointing. I started an Edgeworth one, but I never got a chance to finish it before I graduated from high school. Stupid actual assignments.
