mouse smoothing
different sensitivities in the x and y axes
no mouse controls in most of the menus
no buff/debuff indicators (is my sword still poisoned? let me pause and go through 3 inventory screens to find out!)
no quick swap for gear/spells
can't remap your keys
how the hell do I use katjit night vision and why isn't it a damn toggle instead of a 60 second buff?

I'm glad my friend pre-ordered and let me play his copy before I bought this turd. It looks like it will be yet another case of waiting 6 months for the modding community to fix the game before it is actually playable on the pc. At least bethesda is consistent.

on the plus side I read the load times are atrocious on xbox which isn't an issue on the pc

I found the game almost unplayable before I tweaked the mouse and graphics options. There are a bunch of tweaks here: http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/m7zja/tweaks_to_make_skyrim_that_much_better/

This fixes the Mouse left/right movements being faster than up/down; add the following keys to SkyrimPrefs.ini in your My Games dir:
fMouseHeadingYScale=0.0100
fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0200

You can assign a number to your favorite item/spells, while a favorite is highlighted just press the number you want to assign to it.

Remapping the keystrokes is a mess, like if you remap the Use key some dialogs can be selected with it but others need the old keystroke. Took me forever to figure out how to favorite something because I had remapped the V key.

It was developed for consoles and probably ported in the last few weeks of development to the PC. What were you expecting the interface to be like?

There is a mod out that fixes SOME of the keybinding issues, and some other annoying things about the UI. I've got it at the moment, its one of the few mods on TES-Nexus for Skyrim. I still cant drop items though.

As for the Kajiit night vision... thats just stupid, although I havnt run into any situations where ive needed extra light, maybe my brightness is too high. When the construction set comes out, I will personally make a mod that gives night vison an infinite time limit instead of 60 seconds. If anyone wants it, send me a PM and ill get back to you when its done...unless I forget.

Just to point out, you CAN quick swap stuff - mark stuff as favourite, open the favourite window, highlight the item/spell and press a number key (1-8).

As for remapping, what are you talking about, I remapped my shout/power key without any problems in the options.

The lack of mouse controls doesn't bother me. I didn't even notice it because controlling the interface with the keyboard works quite well for me.

In general, while the interface does have a definite console focus, it's both aesthetically better than Oblivion's, as well as more functional and easier to use.

You can turn off mouse smoothing in the .ini file

To use the Khajiit night vision, as well as the other racial powers and the various Shouts you'll get later, select it in the spells menu and then activate them with the Shout/Power key (it's a separate key).

Lack of buff/debuff indicators sucks, as does the different X/Y axis.

X360 controller is enabled from the start... disable it and your mouse should work fine...

It's not too bad, I only have one problem that hopefully somebody can solve.

When I'm selling or buying an item, it only tells me the value of it, not how much they're actually gonna sell it for.

How long did you play the game for? IF you played it for more than an hour you should know the answers to all of these 'problems', if you don't have the answers then you've done the following:
HOW DO I DO ANYTHING
*Game gives you a hint* - I DON'T NEED THESE HINTS I KNOW EVERYTHING
I STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO DO ANYTHING DUE TO MY IMPATIENCE - THIS GAME MUST SUCK.

I swear half of that stuff may be due to you not having getting used to the (admittedly) less than stellar interface.

But then again, interfaces haven't completely turned me off games ever. I don't think I have ever considered a moddable game interface as a deciding point of whether I should get a game.

I have experienced exactly zero of the problems you just mentioned.
