Mate, c'mon. A bit heavy don't you think? Its a persons choice to follow a religion and they obviously dont believe their following a false god, thats your belief. See what your saying is a step of racism and some people could even consider it racist. So lighten up a bit. Im Catholic and basically I dont give a flying fuck about what people think of my beliefs but you could offend people by saying that. So just watch it a bit.

and you don't think television shows and entire channels devoted to religion aren't offensive to atheists? they can spend a few hours preaching on about whatever they follow, but if an atheist were to try something like that, they'd get attacked for it, maybe even told to be a bit more understanding. i think it's about time for the majority of the religious to try and understand us.

and i apologise if this offends any believers out there- i was under the impression that this was a thread to voice your negative views about things. my mistake

Yeah thats exactly what this thread is for. But what you've expressed is something that I have a negative view on so fuck off if you think it only goes one way. And those shows and channels for religion are designed for religious people. You don't have to watch them. Thought I could poke my head in here. It's not exactly his fault for being offended by these shows and channels, I'm an atheist and I'm offended by Songs of Praise. But atheists don't have a unified meeting place like religions do, so how could someone organise things like that? Also, even if the organisational challenge was overcome, the government(s) most likely has a bias in religion's favour and, despite being of the same principal of a belief system's own television channel, it would somehow become a horrid case of misunderstanding and a goldmine for controversy. My two cents. (pence)

I do live in the United States, yo! I understand that the bulk of conservative people in this country are stereotypical born-again Christians who vote straight down the party line, but I'm a minority in that I stand for what true conservatism used to stand for.
