Wireless is bad. No matter what.

I suffered with wireless for years with the exact same problems you describe, then I just bought an ethernet cable and ran it from my router to my computer. Now my connection is rock solid, and faster than it ever was with wireless.
I've never experienced a deficit in speed from using wireless. Also, it's impossible for me to use ethernet as I have too many computers and wireless devices now.

Old WiFi did suck, but it's really coming along now.

OT:

It's probably your provider, ring them up and ask if they'll be sorting anything out soon in your area. Complain enough, and you'll get it eventually.

The funny thing is that I have been complaining to verizon. Their customer service is probably the worst on the planet. None of them speak english, and they re direct you between two different departments for support because their too lazy to do it.

EDIT: typed this up before you posted above. But the last 2 sentences may still be valuable to you :).
I'll try calling again tomorrow. Its a little late here in Jersey. So, if they can't do anything, what internet provider do you guys recommend?

My problem is the internet connection on my pc cuts out every so often. Seems to be when its stressed.

So I can be loading 500,000 bytes of video data just fine if I start them at around the same time. But if I start surfing the net then connection will be lost.

You see how your ping is about 130? That's bad :(.

Ping is basically how long it takes for you to send a signal to a server and get a response back.
Having a high ping is what causes lag in games and on the internet.
Completly off topic but I love your avatar. Its so happy.

I don't know if you have it out there in NJ, but Insight has some nice broadband. I have there low end service (1/2 as fast as their premium) and I got ove 8mb/s from my wireless connection to my PS3. And I am using their G router.

I got this

Is that good or bad? If good, then somethings wrong because I'm having similar problems.
That's really good.

Haha even I get better results on NY servers than my own ISP, and I'm in Minnesota.

Time to be helpful:
If you're having problems, it's something on your side (pc, router, ect.), as you have extremely kickass internet.
I see. Thanks

My wireless internet connection sucks too, but that it because my router sucks. It doesn't even have an antenna thing; it's just a box. I need a more expensive one.

I saw somebody say they had a G router in an earlier post. Can someone explain the difference between the types, and which one is the best?

EDIT:

My speeds suck, but I seem to have decent ping (I'm pretty sure it's the lower the better), so I'm pretty sure it's my router that is making my online gaming lag.

My wireless works better than when I use a cable.
You're one of the few, then. The big problem with wireless is that it tends to be easily interrupted by other signals. I used to have wireless and any time me or one of my room mates got a call or text message the internet would crap out for a while. I think a lot of these kinds of issues have been fixed with newer hardware, but I swore off of wireless forever after getting chain DC'ed so frequently.
