I hate Ocarina of Time 3D

I just do. It is the worst game I have ever played. I'm not trolling, I legitimately hate this game. I went in expecting an engrossing story, gripping action and fiendish puzzles. I should be getting it, but the game keeps throwing up hurdles and forces me to visit the Sheikah stone more than I should be.

It's the exact same reason I hate LOS:TEN. (Oh, god, here I go again...) I get into the game, I start having fun, and then the difficulty spikes so hard it comes back around and rapes you.

But this game is even worse because I was expecting the greatest game ever. Maybe the greatest game ever is hiding behind the Forest Temple, which contains a room with 3 skeleton sodiers that are ridiculously hard to defeat, you have to take them on at the same time, and if you take too long killing the last one, the first one you killed COMES BACK TO LIFE AND SLICES YOU OPEN WHILE YOU'RE TRYING TO KILL THIS LAST ONE. I mean, WHAT THE HELL?

If you've never played Ocarina of Time before, don't waste your money. It's a festering pile of rotten fruit glittered up with fancy 3D graphics. Do not play this game. You will just set yourself up for a kick in the balls.

I'm a Nintendo fanboy. I bought the 3DS at launch, SSBB is my favorite game, and I make NES/SNES pixel art in Minecraft. So if this game is bad to someone who follows Nintendo like a puppy on a leash, it has to be pathetic.

Go ahead. Flame me.

We at the escapist know Ocarina of Time isn't a god send.

That title belongs to Wind Waker or Majora's Mask.

Come at me, Bro.

Water Temple is overrated. Not sure what reminding everyone of this accomplishes but its true.

That is all.

Eh. Chances are if you didn't like the Forest Temple. (Which is one of my most favorite temples in that game) Chances are you probably won't like the rest of the game. OOT isn't known for being all that easy. And the difficulty goes up from there.

I can suggest some tips though. Go around and do some sidequests. One sidequest involves collecting chickens as Young Link and if you do it, you earn a bottle. Which can be used to store fairies that can bring you back to full health if you die. Also looking for Heart Pieces to increase your health can do wonders.

Did you make this post for any reason beyond garnering hatred? Because those who agree with you are going to be passive, and those that don't will DESPISE you.

It definitely is not the best Legend of Zelda. It is just the game that set the ground work for the 3D series, Wind Waker is so much better. Also what is LOS: TEN?

So because you're doing something wrong, the game is absolutely terrible and nobody should ever play it?

Damn, I love the internet.

Well that's fine you can hate it.

It just means you don't have a very good taste in games. At all.

If you've red any of my previous posts you'd know, but LOS:TEN is Legend of Spyro The Eternal Night. Fuck Dragon time.

I have to disagree with some of these posts. Wind Waker is certainly not better than Ocarina; spending over half the game sitting around while a boat carries you over the seemingly "large" overworld is not my idea of a Zelda-esque exploration game.

And Jailbird: is this your first time playing Ocarina? Or were you having trouble with the DS controls?

I deem your rage either hyberbole (which is hard to tell through this medium) or hilariously overblown.

You are having trouble with one part of a not super difficult game (unless the 3DS version is much harder than N64). Congratulations, you aren't that good at the game. That's all on you, not the game. That's okay. there are plenty of games that I'm just not that good at, but you know what I don't do? I don't get all pissy and hate the game just because I'm not that good at.

Also, the worst game you ever played? The worst? Really?

Edit: Note, this is me giving the benefit of the doubt on this not being a troll post. We'll see how fair that was.

I am very sorry sir, but I did read your post, and unless I am missing a post entirely in this thread, the only thing you said about LOS:TEN is "It's the exact same reason I hate LOS:TEN. (Oh, god, here I go again...) I get into the game, I start having fun, and then the difficulty spikes so hard it comes back around and rapes you." So no I would have not known what LOS:TEN was from your first post.

What? How can you hate such a game?

Jailbird408 said:
SSBB is my favorite game.
Well that explains a lot.

If you can't beat Ocarina of Time, a game I beat when I was like 6, you have problems worse then your favorite game being super smash brothers. Not much worse, but worse none the less.

That being said, I'm pretty sure you're just a shitty troll. I mean, nobody could be this ignorant without making an effort. But if you can, kudos to you.

The only thing I could infer from your post is that you suck at zelda. It's not even the puzzles you're stuck on, it's combat. I mean, there's literally two buttons and a stick. That's all there is to combat. Somehow, it's simpler then super smash brothers combat, which you've obviously figured out.

Actually, I'm not going to get started on SSBB. But still, you suck, and so do your opinions.

I'm not a big fan of Ocarina of Time either (and it was the first 3D game I played) but come saying Ocarina of Time is hard? I mean even my mom has passed that game! If you are going to disregard it at least let it be for a viable reason, like the controls are awkward by todays standards, and actually that's the only valid reason I find... Overall I think it's still good I just get annoyed at it because everybody keeps telling me it's the greatest game ever, I mean it's not even the best Zelda so how the hell can it be the greatest game ever?
BTW: The best Zelda games are Majora's Mask and Wind Waker (if you hate on it because of the gaphics you're retarded, but if you hated it because of the boat I can understand that).

Cause you're an obvious troll who is very obvious?

Seriously dude, you're going to have to do better. I mean, no one takes an 11 year old seriously anyway, but just picking on a much lauded game and calling it terrible, while adding in the fact that you think it's too hard (obvious flame bait is obvious?)... not exactly high level troll material. Either just sit and play CoD with the rest of the kids, or wait until you at least hit puberty before posting on forums.

I too think Ocarina of Time is MASSIVELY overrated, as is the entirety of the N64 library, but I don't think it's a BAD game. It's quite enjoyable, and it was very revolutionary for the time. Though to be fair, "revolutionary for the time" is the phrase that goes with most N64 titles, quickly followed by "but has been done a million times better by now and is completely outdated", which is something I've been saying for many years now, so I'm extremely happy to see Yahtzee back me up on this one.

But anyways, while I don't think Ocarina of Time deserves the praise it gets when Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening DX were far more interesting games, you've gone pretty overboard. Besides, there's no use trying to reason with the generation of gamers who grew up with N64s. Believe me, I've been telling them for years that most of the N64's library is crap by today's standards, and that anyone who genuinely thinks Super Mario 64 is a well designed game with better controls and a better camera than Mario Sunshine is a complete idiot, and it's never been any less pointless. Ocarina of Time, regardless of its actual quality, is just one of those games you don't bad mouth on the internet unless you want to get verbally abused. (See Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 7)

You misunderstand. By "previous posts" I mean previous posts on previous topics, as in, not this one. But now you know about the abomination that is Eternal Night, so we can drop this.

This is my first time playing this game. Which is why the flaws in this game have been found by my nostalgia-proof eyes.
