This is mainly a pointless rage thread, however there shall be questions at the end.

Well I have had my Samsung Syncmaster 203B for 2 years it is a great monitor and I love the thing. However, the CCFL lamp is going dead. Ok happens on a monitor that old, no big deal. The issue I am having, is finding a replacement CCFL the correct size. Samsung does not list the size of their lamps anywhere, and I do not want to take the monitor apart to find out. It would be a complete pain in the ass and I wish they would help their customers out with prolonging the use of their products.

Anyone ever replaced a CCFL lamp? If so, how hard was it to do?

AT&T intentionally makes your phone get less service over the years so you have to buy a new one. Which really pisses me off.

Microsoft do that as well with computers and their operating systems. It's so annoying.

As for mobile phones, I have what I like to call a Nokia brick, have had it for several years and can't be bothered to get a new one as it is still working perfectly well.

Give them a call and ask, I find them to be very helpful. My partner called them today for me concerning a stuck pixel, and they are sending someone to replace my monitor and take away the old one, I do not even have to mail it off. Personally I am very happy with them.
So just give em a call before you write them off. They may nto be able to help you, but it's worth a try.

I wish I still had my Nokia brick, it did everything I needed as simply as possible. Then the speaker died after three years of faithful service and dropping down stairs and whatnot. Rather than getting a similar phone, I decided to upgrade a bit. Now I've got a Samsung touch-screen thing and it's completely horrible. It can't be used with a stylus because it's not sensitive enough, but using a thumb results in many misses or double presses and... yeah. I've basically stopped texting because it takes so bloody long to correct all the mistakes.

I don't necessarily blame Samsung as a whole, but I do question how well they tested this damn thing before release. It says something that they released a new model shortly afterwards (which my brother has) that comes with a stylus... but managed to cock that up too, with the 'hold' button sticking out from the side of the phone so that it's easy to press while in a pocket or something. I lose track of the number of calls I've got from my brother that he didn't know about.

So... I think the general advice is "don't get a Samsung mobile". I don't have much of an issue with their other stuff - I'm reading this on a Syncmaster 932 and it's lovely for what I need.

The newest Samsung phone the one that just came out a couple months ago, and I have not seen for sale here in the states is actually getting great reviews. It also costs about $800.

I suffer from being to large for technology, I constantly fat hit extra keys on keyboards (some at least, most have the keys spaced enough apart). I can hardly (and have to use a fingernail) use most of the mini keyboards on smart phones and the like. It takes two hands for me to use my regular old cell. I am unable to use my thumb reliably or I hit multiple keys.

Touch screens are worse. Damn little things. I am not even giant I just have freakishly large hands for a guy that is 6 ft tall.

none of this is relevant to my post...
That's because your post isn't that good, so people are making up for it with worthy discussion.

Try ringing the Samsung customer service. They'll sort it out for you straight away.

Oh, no. A manufacturer built something you own and it broke. Rage. Did you try calling Samsung up for the info?

You'd either want this number digital HDTVs: 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864) or this number All other products: 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864). Best of luck. (Whoops, same number. :p)

Edit: If you're going to replace the lamp yourself (I assume that's why you're buying a new lamp for it instead of taking it in for repairs) why aren't you opening it to check? You're going to have to do it anyway.

I am not angry that it broke. It has lasted way past its recommended lifespan and is a great purchase. If I had the money, I would just go out and buy another of the same model. I am mad that I cannot find what sizes the CCFL lamps are anywhere.
