I hate Steam

Buying a full priced game on Steam is like...doing something...really stupid...

I'm still pleased as punch about getting Crysis for £2.50, to be honest. I eagerly await future deals.

Well no, I don't actually hate Steam. I do however have a big problem with whoever is responsible for picking the daily/weekly deals.

Why? Because he/she/it is a mind reading asshole. Just a couple hours ago a thought appeared in my head, "You know what game I want? Singularity". And what do you know, it's the deal today. This sort of thing has happened a disturbing amount of times now, leading to quite a few hits on my economy.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Edit: If it wasn't clear all already, I don't actually have a problem with it. "I hate Steam" was just a much more interesting title than "Sometimes things are on sale right when I want them to".

Hey! I picked that up, too. Kinda wish it were the console version, as PC gaming gives me some minor eye strain issues, and I prefer the controls, but this is still pretty sweet.

Haven't actually pressed the purchase button yet. There's no service requiring accounts like Games For Windows Live to play it, right?

Not so far as I know. Steam is mostly independent of Games for Windows Live, I believe.

Hmm... Interesting. Can you do me a favor and decide you want Fallout 3: GOTY edition tomorrow? I missed my chance to get it on sale last Christmas, so another discount on it would be just grand.

I know how you feel. I bought Batman: Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2 when they were on a "just because" sale. Never regretted it afterwards.
