Are there any sayings that just make you rage? Whenever I speak of revenge on my mortal foes, it infuriates me when someone says "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind!" Yeah, well, that may be so, but If I'm going to be half blind, I'm sure as hell going to take one of their eyes with me. So, what sayings have you raging when heard?

I really dislike it when people say "It is what it is".

It's just a cop-out.

"All but x" which someone means that it is X, even though it said it's everything except for X. And it's not even 'All', so I really just don't get it...

I say "Do you mind?" and people reply sarcastically "No".

I think you mean yes, you complete anus-turbine.

"You're such a nice guy"

So, you don't think I'm sexy enough. Also, I'm really not a nice guy. Oh well, now I don't have to take you out to dinner anymore.

"Would you like to ___insert_task_here____?"

If you're going to ask, then ask me.. dont OFFER it as if you're letting me do it because you're so kind.

I always say "Not particularly"

Any command set up like an offer. Like, "Would you mind (insert task here)?" when there's really no choice. If you're going to command me to do something then do it, don't pretend you're not forcing me.

Webster disagrees.

"I could care less" meaning "I don't care at all"

Well, if you could care less, that means that you do, in fact, care.
Same here. I think it's supposed to be "couldn't" but nobody says it that way, which aggravates me.

Oh, I also hate "I couldn't give a shit" or "I couldn't give two shits"

It's generally said by someone who is "giving a shit", otherwise it wouldn't bother them enough to say it.

Stewie from Family Guy hates that too. You're not alone! Also not really a saying but when people say "would you like to do (insert somthing to do eg. go somewhere)", and i reply with "thanks, but no" and then they look all depressed or let down. DONT GIVE ME A CHOICE IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS!!!

"you know what they say...."

Who the hell is they? If somebody actually said whatever quote or phrase that "they" said then say who it is and quote them properly! Otherwise you have no business using their words.
