Alright, Super Mario RPG just got added too, and if you like the whole "turn based random encounters" kind of thing, then you'll like it. I don't recommended only because I played it like, 4 times over on my SNES, but, if I didn't , I'd get it for the Wii.

Actually, Super Mario RPG didn't have random encounters, in the true sense of the word. You ran into enemies on the map. Sorta like Chrono Trigger.

And yes, I'd also suggest getting Super Mario RPG. And I also played it multiple times on the SNES.

And then a VGA adaptor so you can play the game on your TV the way it's meant to be played, and a controller so it feels right too.

Only because you're extremly discriminating about how you play the game. I assume most people have slightly lower standards with games that feature less than 100 colors.

The Streets of Rage series is indeed on the VC. I also highly recommend 2.

Starfox64 was already brought up repeatedly.

ActRaiser is a classic

Though everyone already owns it on the snes, Super Mario World is a must to own as well. It gives hours of fun.

Then there are the games on WiiWare, like LostWinds (brought up already) and that new Wild West shooter that is short, but addictive.

don't spend them now. just hack the Wii using the Twilight Hack, (google it) and you can get any VC/Wiiware game for free. I've done it. It works.

WTF PEOPLE!? how has no one mentioned Super Metroid!? That is a must have retro game for the wii. If they have FF6, or Chrono Trigger, don't miss out on those either.
