Hello Escapist forum

To make this topic as simple as possible, I have around 20 dollars and I need something to hold me over till LA Noire, any suggestions, preferably on steam.

Some things I have that you may come up with...
Minecraft
all valve games
League of Legends
Killing Floor
Torchlight/Diablo 2
All CoD games
Battlefield series
Magicka

Some things I'm kinda interested in but not interested in throwing my only chance at entertainment money at.

Dirt 2
WoW, Seems like a waste for only 3 days
Warcraft

Thanks for reading and hopefully helping from Jesse Bergerstock Aka SingleTap

If you've got friends, and a controller or two, invest in Magicka. Great, great co-op game.

EDIT: Shit, didn't see it on the list. Sorry, I'm really damn tired.

I've tried serious sam, it's a bit to uncomplex to me, I just put shooter games like that down fast. That was just a xbox demo though.

I agree, that's why it's on my "I own" list. Makes me wish I saved the game to play now.

He said he had Magika. Mount & Blade: Fire & Sword. Great new game £9.99 on steam, great value for money :D L.A Noire looks to be amazing though.

Section 8: Prejudice is also pretty good for a FPS, if you're interested in that.
There is a pretty decently lengthed story mode and the multiplayer is fun too.

hmm I played the other Mount & Blade games, the problem I had with them is that they'd end up feeling like the same thing over and over in an artificial rpg system. Not sure if this game makes things a bit less of the same thing over and over, I'll watch some stuff on it. Thanks for the suggestion.

They do tend to have that problem, but there are some brilliant mods for them if you're into that scene.

Mount and blade warband is a lot of fun if you give it a chance. mind you its 30$ rather than 20, but theres a demo. Fire and Sword is 15$, but its harder to get into.

The Suffering, a FPS with strong horror elements, for $8

fun monster shooting
respectably good atmosphere
mixes story and gameplay well
suprising amount of depth, including symbolism akin to that in SH2
terrific villians

Great game all around

Edit: Oops, forgot to check if you have the system. It's on PS2, Xbox, and Windows. I apologize if this post is not relevant to you.

It's very simple, but there a a few twists, especially in the HD versions. I recommend the gold edtion for $10. You get the originals too, just for the comparison. You'll keep playing that game for a while, I guarantee.

Pffft...only if you sit near the action. Lurk in the back somewhere.
