It's what I did (PS3 owner). Honestly I haven't missed out on much except I had to figure out the names of main bad guys and the fact that you saved the civilization.

It's definitely worth it, but if you don't have a save file, they've just released Mass Effect 2: Genisis, which lets you choose which major choices you can take over into Mass Effect 2. It a comic by Dark Horse too. If you don't have it, the default save it give you is probably the worst option.

Also Mass Effect 1 could get kinda boriing/ tedious after a while. Mass Effect 2 is definitely the better game, especially in terms of gameplay.

Vampire Smile is the sequel to the first one and it's supposed to be head-and-shoulders above the first one, if you have New Vegas theirs also Honest Hearts out yesterday for that price I think.

Outland is really fun if you like platformers, it's somewhere between Mario and Castlevania
