As of today, ca 12AM GMT June 9 2011 I am the proud owner of Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel Edition. As you people in America still have to wait a little while for it and it doesn't go to retail in Europe until tomorrow, I wanted to answer all of your questions.
And also, to warn you. The bust of the Duke can fit in my hand, it's a lot smaller than I realised. The hardcover book about the legacy of Duke is filled with quotes from developers and art from the games. It's pretty nice actually.
I may post a user review of this if enough people want it, I've never reviewed before but as what I assume one of the first people to own the game that isn't in the business I feel a duty to tell the masses.
I'm just about to turn on the game, but will not have all day to play it, so I might not be able to answer all of your questions right away. But ask away!

I kinda figured that bust wouldn't be anything too special. What material is it made from though? I'm assuming plastic, but it'd be cool if it was stone or something like that.

Also I wanna know if the game sucks from a FUN FPS genre stand point.

Solid plastic, feels heavy. Or at least I think so, not really good at gauging materials...
Haven't played enough yet to answer your second question.

There are ridiculous load times, but the hints are at least funny. Expecting to tire of them soon.

Okay. Is it any good, so far?
Well, the boss fight was meh. Not much happened, just shoot and wait for resupplies (the ammo max is 69). But it's only the intro, so was to be expected. One thing I can say, is that people look really ugly! The animation is awkward and the models are weird looking. The environments are pretty nice though, but it's obvious the game isn't new gen. You increase your "health" by interacting with you environment, which is a nice touch.

I'm sure it won't be what 3d Realms promised us, "the best game of all time".
But I hope it will at least be on par with other modern games, but I doubt it.

I'd say it holds up, at least at the point I am. It's not the best in it's class, but it's pretty fun and varied.

Does each level feel meaty and lengthy like the original Duke 3D game? As opposed to about three check points penned into a couple of areas (as is with your modern FPS) and already we're onto the next level.
Hope that made sense!

Does Duke have regenerating health? Is he limited to two weapons?

Please tell me the demo was just a fluke...

What's your favorite line from the game so far?
Ooh, hard one. Some of the loading hints are great, like "If you get stuck, you can cheat and chen an online FAQ" and "The Duke can bench over 600 pounds." Other than that I can't think of any line that wasn't a sexual innuendo based on the situation. Yes I can, "Are you a toy?" "I'm an action figure!" Also, "Are you seriously going to save the world all by yourself?" and "After 12 damn years it better be!"

They're pretty long, but I'm worried that they're gonna be few. Also, no boring cover based combat! So far they're linear but pretty wide for combat.

He has regenerating health and it fills almost instantly as long as you don't get hit. I'm pretty sure you only have 2 :( Which is so damn moronic it's ridiculous, almost stopped me from playing!

How about you try posting some gameplay videos of it? I'd like to see how it gets started and how good it is.

Also:

-Do you move fast like shooters of old, or do you crawl forward like modern ones?

-Do your guns have ridiculous ammo limits (i.e. only 120 rounds for a gun that takes one clip to kill basic enemies?) because I'm really starting to hate that.

-Are the guns accurate enough (Do they fly all over the place like a green as grass Commander Shephard, or do they fire as accurately as Marcus' Fenix's Lancer?)

-Is the dialogue at least funny? Is it overly referential? Is it oversaturated with language or not quite dirty enough?

-Judging it as a regular old shooter and not compared to its famous older brethren, is it actually a good game or a quick cash in?

-How do I get used to trackball mice? Because I found one in the IT storage room and it's cool but it's damn uncomfortable.
I've got it for the 360 (all others were sold out), so can't capture footage. I guess I can, but don't know how.

Duke felt a bit sluggish to move at first, but got used to it. He's definitely faster than modern standards, but it seems he's slower when not in combat. Still not fast enough. Even in a driving section it felt really slow. But he can run very fast, and sideways, so it's not all bad.

They have ridiculously short ammo limits, usually around 69 when enemies take around 5 to kill. You can also of course pick up and throw stuff. And you can do your good old kick to decapitate downed enemies.

Not sure about accuracy as so far the combat is in very close quarters, which is fun with the hand to hand combat. I'd say they're not that accurate.

The dialogue is so-so. A lot of sexual innuendos as explained in my earlier post but not a lot of longer conversations, just a quick jab and off. Nothing really stand out as funny to me, just a few lines that are good comedically. Could have to do with the fact that you don't initiate a conversation, they start automatically when you approach someone. It's a pretty good balance between dirty and not, but still no sex. Disappointing >.< There's one or two obvious self references but most are in the environment. The way the Duke sees himself is of course everywhere. Should have been more references, but who knows what's to come?

Compared to other modern shooters, it's definitely refreshing. The combat is fun, big guns and no cover, that's always great! I'm pretty happy with it, but nothing has really wowed me yet. Like I said, not the best of the genre but still good.

Use it a lot.

Anything else? I'm gonna have to stop playing for now, as I've got to go. I'll be back!

Sweet! The game has taken such a long time in development that even if people diss the game because of a 'bad' demo to the game- you got to realize that demos don't really qualify the game unless the Developers didn't care to make the demo good :I.

But, my question is this: When you play as Duke, does he say a ton of funny lines? Because the only thing that will convince me to get the game is if Duke says some straight up funny stuff. Sadly, as I read these comments.. Duke has 2 guns and regeneration health which doesn't seem challenging.. *sigh*.
It's not that funny actually. There's a line here or there, but nothing really good.

Yes, if you hit incredibly hard on the edge. But it's a challenge.

As far as I'm concerned, the duke need not be top notch next gen shooter experience. It simply needs to be a fun romp shooting aliens in the face.

Does it deliver on the F word
