It's the perfect mixture of happiness and sadness that gets me every time. 1:29 if you want to ball your eyes out.

Try this one. I thought it was pretty sad!
"Pretty sad" is the biggest understatement I think I've ever heard. I've quoted the homecoming-soliders one because it got me, but not nearly as much as much as the cat. I think because it's not uplifting, just really, really awful and because my cat I had for 18 since the age of 2 died recently and he did almost exactly the same thing when he wanted attention. My cats now do the same, but I'll only ever have one true cat. RIP, Percy.

If you watch this and manage to not cry you have failed the Turing test.
Well, guess I'm a bot then. I just really really didn't get the point of this. Was the bird killing itself or was he trying to safe the trees or what.
Of course. You're a viking, duh.

But yeah, that's a Kiwi. A flightless bird. And to fulfill his dream of flying he goes through the Herkulean task of nailing a whole forest to the side of a cliff. Just so he can have the feeling of flying through the woods once in his life.

Here, let me quote the video's top comment:
This Kiwi wants to be unlike the others. To die for a dream, to be free for a moment before death. To reach for a dream even at the cost of your life.
Ah we had a bird like that in Iceland up until 1852. Than we killed the last pair. We "vikings" are like that. If you can't fly to safe yourself you get no pity, you get eaten.
S'ppose that's what you get when you're a defenseless creature living in a country that has conveniently placed pre-warmed cooking locations all around the land.

This really gets to me. I can't even watch it without tearing up.
Also this, especially considering Cash passed away shortly after:

I want to tell you a story.

About a sweet middle aged couple and how little they matter to people at large. The couple, survived the England blitiz, and for a time, had peace. Soon, over the radio, they hear about how the cold war shifted into a nuclear war.

There were bombs coming.

The husband put his faith in to government; the wife didn't believe such a thing was coming. But but it was cleared up as soon as the sirens went off.

The couple managed to get to a bomb shelter in time of the blast, it was over in a few minutes. The couple, rather dim, misunderstood the governmental leaflets and they stood in for two weeks instead of two they also drunk the rain water and gotten fresh air, exposing themselves to severe radiation poisoning.

Soon, the effects took place, the wife started to loose her hair, her gums bled and severe sores were forming on her legs, the husband suffered the same effects saved for the hair loss, he already lost his hair long ago.

The couple decided to follow one, last instruction. Put a bag over their heads, it will surely stop the radiation. The husband wanted to say a prayer and so he did, but he forgot the rest, he stumbles and stammers till the wife said;

"No more love; no more."

Although the story of Rusty got me close to crying, the ending of Saving Private Ryan is the one that actually made me do it, even for a bit. Armageddon is way up there as well.

Keep in mind this stuff is real:

If that doesn't make you cry, not sure what will.

I was looking around on random sites and such as you do, and found this picture.
I'm not religious or anything (seeing as he says about God and such), but it still managed to make me shed a tear.
Reading about soldiers makes my eyes teary because their deaths seem so senseless.

Try this one out. Had to find a reupload of the original because the music was removed from the original. :/

Ignore the opening...thing...why he had to put that there, I don't know. It's not part of the original.

the story of Rusty
This one really got me as I had experienced a similar situation, although it was with my cat.

This is one of the most depressing things I've ever read. The first time I did, I cried for hours. The mere thought of it would make me tear up for weeks afterwards. I may be more saddened by it because it involves the death of a cat and I have lost some cats to old age over the course of life, or maybe it's because I just like animals. At any rate, it's depressing.

I... I don't even dare clicking play. I just stare at the picture and the little I understand from the title and am completely destroyed.

This is nothing better than the scary thread!

I know! My friend sent that video to me and then she just kept apologising after she realised I cried real tears over the video. And am crying again. It's just devastating. :( This pain is just too real...

I would hope she did! Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't videos of dead cats a violation of the Geneva convention?
There should be a help group just for that kind of emotional trauma!
