I feel like I post this on the Escapist at least once a day. [http://www.givesmehope.com/]

For added effect, listen to...

Whilst reading. Good luck, friends. Bring Kleenex.

EDIT: Just so you know what you're clicking there...

Gives Me Hope is little micro-stories, like FML or MLIA if you're familiar with them, but for instances of hope and beauty in life, be they everyday or extraordinary. After a few pages, they really start to get to you. I linked my two friends to it when in a Skype call after discovering the site, and within five minutes the call was just sniffs and sobbing.
Hmmm... they are quite emotionally stirring.

How about the two other versions of Your Hand in Mine:
and
...Great songs

The ending of Blackadder, when they go over the top.
Wholly agree with this. Surprisingly emotional, bearing in mind the comedic nature of the show. Here it is:

I also agree. The ending was quite fitting I thought.

OT : Other than playing through Red Dead Redemption to the end [sub]I know it's been mentioned but this post is long enough without another quote =P[/sub] this song:

Von means Hope in Icelandic...

Not that this will make you cry, but it is somehow tangentially relevant.

So a guy walks into a bar and orders a beer. He sees a jar full of fifty dollar bills sitting on the bar and asks the bartender about it. Bartender says "Oh we've got a horse in the back who won't stop crying. Yeah, lost his mate so he's all depressed. He keeps it up the Vet said he won't survive. If you put 50 dollars in the jar and can make him stop laughing, you get to take the jar home, fifties and all.

So the guy puts a fifty in the jar, goes in the back. A minute later he comes back to the bar, snaps his fingers while pointing towards the room where there horse is and says "Done". Bartender goes back, the horse is cracking up laughing!

So the guy takes the jar of fifties home. He comes back a week later to find another jar of fifties. He again asks the bartender about it, to which he replies "That horse you made laugh, he won't stop laughing! Vet says he'll die if he doesn't stop. If you put $50 in the jar and get him to stop laughing, you get to take the jar home, fifties and all".

The guy again goes back there, again returns a minute later, snaps his fingers and points back to the room saying "Done." The bartender checks on the horse to again find him crying, even worse than he did before.

Bartender says "Well I guess you win again. Few questions though . . . how'd you get him to laugh in the first place?"

The guy replies "Oh that was easy, I told him I had a bigger penis than he did".

Then the bartender asks "Well how'd you get him to cry?"

"Oh," the man replies, "I showed him".

Nothing's worth fighting for. It will all be dust one day, and no-one will remember you. Also, we're never really happy, all we can do is smother that realisation under mindless commercialism.
I'm pretty sure scientifically people have been happy.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't matter a year from now. It matters in the moment. It matters in the bonds we share with others.

It is pointless to point out there is no point, unless of course there IS a point which refutes the initial proposition.

Thanks everyone, there is some really powerful meaning in these pages. I broke down for last minutes with oden. Same goes for ugly :( and the cat who tried to wake up its friend. Damn, just thinking about it is making me tear up. I have not cried in a while, but all of this has changed that.

Why can't that be the point? Why does there have to be some eternal truth or meaning?

Go watch the episode of House when Wilson's wife is in hospital.
You're talking about the episode Wilson's Heart, the last episode in season 4, right? (Though she's not actually his wife). So sad, but also one of their best episodes, in my opinion. If you're looking for a reason to cry, this is a good one.

My sentiments exactly, only I'd argue there CAN'T be any eternal meaning and that any sort of purpose is in fact itself purposeless. In fact my next Youtube video is going to be exactly on that. I already have the script ready. Just have to film it tomorrow.

After you watch the first 49 episodes, this will make you cry.
I'm 99% sure of it.
I weeped a little, but then I realized that he didn't really die.

Anyway, I'm sorta surprised that nobody put this up yet, if you remember playing this game back when it first came out, and you saw this first hand, don't lie to yourself, you shed a crocodile tear or two.

EDIT: Dammit, somebody else did do it. That's what I get for looking at the first 4 pages and jumping to conclusions.
