How are people still complaining that the cuts are 'OMG2FAST'?
I understood exactly what was going on, despite the baby black-screen/burst of music interlude, which was a little unexpected, and have enjoyed the vast improvement from episode 2 (episode 1 was actually half-decent in my opinion, especially as it was essentially just an intro).

I barely notice Ian ('comic-book guy' as some of you know him) and the cuts are just the right sort of length to keep the episode dynamic.
I haven't really noticed much overt railroading (killing the quest giver is usually a no-no) and if the party doesn't think the DM is plotting against them (the "break for lunch?" "no!" incident) then he's doing the job wrong and you end up playing Disney D&D where noone ever dies.

It may be because their sessions are quite similar to that of my own group (there's usually 6+ players, 2DMs, and girlfriends/boyfriends reading in the background and smacktalking/playing as NPCs on a whim) which makes me immune to all the apparently rage-inducing faults that are so glaringly obvious to 50% of the people who view it, but I quite like the series. So there.

Hhhhmmmm, it's pretty good, not entirely my taste, but I don't think it's as bad as everyone says, Game Dogs is average as well, but it's gotten worse, started off better though. I don't see why all you people hate these things, just because they're different to the other things on this site doesn't mean they're bad.

I counted about 80 cuts
Perhaps The Escapist will release a special version for you where they leave all the times someone says "Um" and "Er" in.
No, they already show all that in the regular version, they just cut out what's said afterwards, so we just get someone saying "Um" then immediately afterwards cut to someone else mid-sentence.

As for the rest of this...Look, I like the idea. It's D&D. With stripers and porn stars. Those are some of my favorite things. But even if a movie has a strong concept and a good cast, if its presentation is fucked then it's just bad. It's like if the Matrix was filmed on a cell phone, or if Yahtzee just posted his ZP transcripts instead of making videos, or any of another billion similar analogies. Everything in this show is A-ok with me, except the fact that 95% of the content is gone and what's left is just an awkward couple of minutes full of bad jokes and half-thoughts.

Now that looks fun to watch, good find :)
I know it has gameplay, it has females, and most importantly! It has females cosplaying.
These guys plus the camera work of "A good knight's quest" and the sfx quality of "doomsday arcade" would be [moreso] such an epic winner :D

I just now went back and watched again, so I could Tell Someone, on The Internet.

I counted three "ums" in the entire episode. They were all in the middle of longer segments; for none of them did the action cut away immediately after as claimed. One "er" and a "huh" also escaped the cutting room floor. Your statement is without factual merit, sir.

Ok, I get it. But yes, it still sucks.

I don't want to be one of the douches to crap on this, as I am with others who thought the premise was promising. But, you know what? I didn't even go in knowing what this was about. I just liked the title and clicked on the picture. Frankly, this is a fucking mess. And some of you may claim that is what gives it its charm.

But really? It's just tacky. I would appreciate the amateurish vibe of it if there was SOMETHING for me to get involved with/attached to, and the pilot episode was somewhat indicative of this. But YES, the choppiness, the music volume, the shaky and "hey i'll just keep the camera pointed at the back of her skull" moments mar the shit out of it. I got halfway through the 3rd episode and had to turn it off.

This isn't informative. It isn't entertaining. It isn't shedding a new light on anything. It's a home video that should've stayed in their fuckin home. And I guess if you're into watching home videos, or have the attention span of goddamn squirrel, you would find this amusing.

Don't get me wrong. If they make any drastic changes, like murder the fucking editor on camera and hire someone who knows what they're doing for instance, I'd gladly give this another chance.

I don't see it happening though.

So what the fuck, Escapist? Can I pitch my idea for videotapping my nephew playing nicktoons flash games? It would be fucking groundbreaking, I swear.

Fair enough. I'm not even going to argue with this, because sitting through those seven minutes of uninteresting dialogue and amateur camerawork so that I can make note of every shitty jump cut as well as what exact word was said immediately before it just so I can debate the point that this shit is shit is just about the least appealing thing I can think of doing at this point.

Where is this supposed 'first post' that has something better that everyone is referring to? It seems to have been removed.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why Russ (or whomever gave the okay for this show to be brought over to the Escapist) signed off on this. Honestly, what was the thought process? I'm not saying the girls shouldn't continue to make their show, but seriously guys - This show is low end Youtube quality AT BEST.

I honestly thought the goal @ The Escapist was to start pumping out high production value content, and that there was a quality bar that was going to give The Escapist a name in the new media and gaming circles. This is just.. so.. poorly.. made.

Russ, if you're the one with the say on stuff like this - You MUST know that this kind of project can be done with higher production value, better on screen talent, and in a more engaging format.

C'mon man - I *know* you can do better.

I stopped half-way through.

I'm gonna make videos with sock-puppets talking about shakespeare while they snort chilipeper, and then I'm gonna post it here. Apparently that's all it takes to be famous on this site now. Or is it the porn star part that's selling it? I can cut in some girls shaking their ass too, in between the cuts of random r&b music.

IMHO,

1. Play in a less cluttered set/room. It's distracting to see a bunch of weird shit and pictures behind the people on screen.

2. Too much cutting! Please stop cutting all over the place. Don't cut away in the middle of a sentence! If what someone is saying is worth hearing, then lets hear all of it. If it isn't, then don't show any of it!

3. I don't really appreciate the first person, camcorder, Blair Witch perspective.

I don't want to be a dick at all! Because once I start ignoring the above, it's fairly entertaining. It would almost be better as a podcast or an audio webcast. It's much better to just listen to it.

But yeah. I would say, demand a larger budget from whoever produced this for you.
