Wow, a mod who's willing to get in my face and tell me I'm wrong.
Well, he's not exactly a normal mod, check out his title. ;)

I think this show was the best yet, lots of puzzle solving and enthusiasm again. Anger over how the group sacked the room, and even better, an RP interrogation!

Interrogation scenes in P&P games are almost always fascinating to me. They are where a lot of conflicting personality types float to the top. The person who wants to charm out every detail, the other one who wants to beat it out of the subject, the one person (and there's ALWAYS this person, who may be the same as the bad cop interrogator, or may just be a sociopath) who wants to kill or maim the helpless captive in the most interesting way they can think of... I've always had a hard time falling into my characters enough to talk in first person about what I'm doing in game, but interrogating a prisoner seems to be one of the most common ways to slide into your persona.

And Joli did a great job with the timing of the reveal, along with keeping everyone else in the dark prior to that point. As far as being quiet, most people that are new to an established group (the rest of the players have been gaming with each other for a bit) is usually going to be a bit more reserved until they get a feel for the game and character interactions of the particular group.
Kross? I haven't seen you around here either, what is this? Confuse me with new mods day!?

Lol, yeah, I saw he was the CEO, is he also the founder?

I'll start by saying that I find this newest set of episodes entertaining. But...

People feel extremely entitled to hate on punks and women whose ethics are outside the norm. It's to be expected.
I don't feel that this is a fair statement against the people who have claimed to not enjoy the show. The forums from the first "season" had plenty of comments like this when the complaints people were posting about were neither related to questionable ethics nor punks, but more so the skipping video, bad lighting, not captured story, and bad camera work.

Our most popular show (ZP) has only around 3 comments per 25 video streams. Our least popular show has 25 comments per 100 video streams.
I know this was more than likely not intentional but those statistics appear to be almost purposefully and ambiguously scaled. Maybe it was just me, but when I first read that I gathered 3 vs. 25 instead of 12% vs 25%.

So assuming only 12% post and we have ~150 comments on the last 2 Axe videos that means 1250 views max.

While ZP on the other hand has ~350 on many recent ones. So given 25% that makes 1400 views or about twice that with the 12% post rate.

To drive the point home, we see ~150 views on many LRR videos meaning they range from 600-1250 viewers. However going back to their main website and clicking on the video's from before coming to the escapist we see a view counter consistently over 10,000.

It makes your "statistics" seem questionable at best.

By those metrics, we see Axe growing.
This is at least understandably(and hopefully) true, all the best of luck to the cast.

Been watching since episode one and I think the series is really starting to come into its own now we know and understand the people and plot a little more. Keep making more like this. Perhaps an article on good character building from the girls or one on "How to be a good DM." from Zak would be awesome :).

Pretty good episode. The Medusa reveal was pretty awesome - I thought they were screwed when I saw all the goblin guards coming after them.

And I felt bad for Frankie :( she seemed to get kind of pissed off and upset at one part.

Its great to hear from the powers that be that the negative comments will NOT be interrupting my friends and I playing D&D on video.

One of the reasons I enjoy playing this game is that we can all watch it later. We don't get the "remember that time we..." because we can just play whatever episode the memory was from... ... and that is fraking AWESOME!

Thanks to you all for enjoying our game, and to those who don't enjoy the game, thanks for creating a buzz. We are SOOO not going anywhere.

Look at the threads under the shows, there are no clamoring "FIRST" that you see in a ZP, no 95% shared opinion that it was "good" you don't see barely any at all of "Keep up the good work!"

The people who post on the threads generally don't like it, and you have to understand that people who LIKE it are more likely to post than people who have stopped caring because they don't.
Except for hardcore fans I'm pretty sure the internet has shown that people who dislike something will be the Vocal Majority.

Another great show, and the twist where Joli is the half-medusa was cool. I was on the fence about that and just generally forgot along the week.

Are Reaper's miniatures expensive? Who paints them?

I REALLY like this show. Don't listen to the haters guys!
It has been fun to watch you do these adventures because you are so into it. The fact that you are having fun makes it fun to watch.
Justine was so cute hiding her little secret.
These last two episodes have been the best. I think they are easier to follow too. The early ones sort of lost me because you tried to condense all the action into a few mins.
Please make them this length or longer.
Looking forward to seeing what happens next week!!

Well, I've gone this far, but I fear my viewing ends here. Given it 8 chances, and while it certainly wasn't bad, it didn't grab me in ways I had expected it to.

What else can I say, other than that it simply wasn't for me.

I wish you guys the best of luck, keep doing what you love - people certainly do seem to like it, and so long as you have fun, I welcome you to our forums.

I was lied to. The show doesn't get better at episode 5. It gets better at episode 8.

It feels a bit too long, honestly, but at least it's decently entertaining now. Good save.

I'm really starting to get into this. I've never played DnD, but my friends have really tried to get me into it. Alas, I don't have the time :(

I gave it a chance. But I honestly don't know why this show exists.

Aside from letting the host mingle with a load of porn stars and strippers obviously.
I agree, the Escapist needs to realize that not every show will be a success and those that aren't need to be removed.
except... that if you look at the comments, there are a number of people who do indeed seem to like this show. If they simply got rid of it, there would be a lot of unhappy people; thus, your point is both bias and invalid. All I can say is if you don't like it, don't watch it.

As for the episode itself, it was quite good; I find myself enjoying this more and more with each episode. I do, however want to make a suggestion, not about the show but about you're DMing: If a player gets an idea into their head about how to do something in game, don't simply dismiss it because it's not in your notes. You should reward creativity, not only because it feels good to figure something out on your own, but also part of the Gaming experience is being part of the story. Later on, your player could fondly remember the time that she oiled the hinges on a door and got a plus 5 to her check for opening it silently, or the time she blinded a spider queen by dropping a blanket on it's head.

I remember when a friend of mine liberated a city from an army of minotaurs by casting an anti-apathy spell on a large pile of arrows, and then firing them all over the walls. The Minotaurs were so repulsed by the effects of the spell that they were forced to leave. Granted, the entire situation made no sense; how can archers, standing away from the city, possibly fire thousands of arrows perfectly across the city, in such a pattern that there was no place for the minotaurs to hide from the effects of the spell? However, years later, this friend will still brag about how his planning allowed him to single-handedly save the city of Pashin.

Otherwise, you are doing a great job, introducing interesting scenarios and characters, and you really got the players involved with that whole half-Medusa surprise.

Zak never "dismisses things because they're not in his notes"--don't be condescending.

The blanket thing didn't work because Kimberly rolled a one and the hinge-oil thing didn't work because any safety-conscious King would have hinges on the INSIDE of his bedroom door.

We LIKE the fact that Zak doesn't just say "Ok,LALALA it works!" to whatever we say--it makes it a challenge, rather than a 4-hour jerk-off.

This series is getting better and better with every episode. I liked it from the start. I am not a D&D player but I really enjoy watching D&D games and other similar games so this really interests me, and the girls are very attractive, which is always good :p. The fact that it is real is the thing that draws me to Axe before any other show here, scripted stuff is funny and entertaining, but a real game show draws you into it more and ends up being so much better.

Is it just me or does this look like a hell of a lot of fun?

I love Zak's goblin voice. And I seriously laughed when he said "It's full of, like... stuff" Well put.

KK is hilarious too; she looked so disappointed with the whole werewolf thing. Mind you it is hard to concentrate on deciphering the backward talk when Mandy is on the screen.

I think the comment about dismissing the blanket idea comes from when he asks Kimberly to roll for the size of her blanket, which to me (who is admittedly an outsider) seems like he was reeling against the idea.

I mean who (apart from faeries) buys a 1' x 1' blanket, rather than one can actually cover you ?

I agree with the hinges on the inside of the door though.

ROBOcity you were clearly watching a different show than everybody else.

The blanket ended up being an ordinary size--Zak had no problem with the blanket tactic, it was just funny what Sasha and KK said about it, so we left that part in the show.

It's hard to think of anything we could do that would make Zak "reel".
