I JUST CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE!

So has anyone ever actually broken a controller or peripheral or other input device when frustrated? I've been gaming for years, and I've done the teeth grinding, shouting at the screen, claiming the game is cheating, and gripping so tight on the controller I can hear it creaking, but I've never actually broken one.

Anyone got any amusing, frustrating or interesting stories about frustration breakage?

EDIT: Anyone heard any stories from Escapist Staff on the subject? I know they did their 'Frustrating Gamin Experiences' but I don't recall any breakage.

And please, if you don't have a story and want to say 'They're just video games', don't. I just want to read some stories of frustrating breaks, not how you don't break stuff

Sort of. A few years ago, me, my brothers friend, and my brother were doing lan play with Starcraft around the clock. After the millions of lessons my brother got from his friend (the master at starcraft), my brother just couldn't seem to get close to beating his friend. After the 60th or so game we played together, my brother officially had it and flew his keyboard across the room for it to shatter into peices. Soon that QWERTYUIOP keyboard became a Q ERT U P keyboard. Thankfully he unplugged it before he threw it. Was wickedly funny. Ever since, we always make reference to it when my brother loses.

I'm surprised that none of my controllers or handhelds haven't broken to be honest. :\
I often throw small games across the room when I'm at the stage where I could not be more pissed. Like the time I got a bum copy of Pokemon Emerald that deleted my save data once I'd completed the game. After about the third time it did this I threw it clean across the room and it hit a wall...

Gameboy cartridges are sturdy...

I threw a skateboard once when a friend kept beating me at Tekken, but that's the worst that's happened. Nobody was hurt and I went on to spam Law's double flip move and kick balls, but I'm not proud of that,

I don't get frustrated when I play singleplayer - that is, if I do, I continue to play until I win - I'm very persistant.

If it's multiplayer I mainly swear and continue to broadcast my hatred for humanity. If my friends are nearby I attack them.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 drove me to the point where I broke my PS2 controller in half (down the skinny part)...

I twisted the thing with all my might and the controller cracked and broke...

It was an old controller...

I went through at least 5 Playstation controllers through breaking them. I also broke the on of the buttons on a mouse because I thumped it.

I don't break things any more however.

On GT5 prologue I was 1st in a race I had always come like, 8th in so when I got to the finish line I slammed on the handbrake for a classy skid finish.

There was one more lap to go.

I screamed, threw my controller at the telly, it only glanced the top, spun through the air and landed safely on my bed. Words will not describe the pain.
