It wasn't because of video game frustration, but I once smashed in our shed door :D

And one of my friends smashed an LCD screen cuz he was angry. At Windows.

2 Nintendo 64 controllers have fallen to Mario Party and that damn rafting minigame...

Other than that if I get frustrated in a game I just put the controller down and walk away...
I had BLISTERS on my palms (thumbs couldn't get the damn thing spinning fast enough for the god-forsaken single player mode).
Oh yes, I suffered from blisters for days after too, that rafting mini game was brutal...

Oh fuck that game! I remember when my brothers mates would bring around the extra controllers, and we'd all fight on who had to use THAT controller ... you know the one ... damn analog stick all loose and useless :p By the end of it, all our hands sore and blistered, us cranky. Except the person who won, who usually sat smug as a cat.

Those games were brutal. Especially when the comps are on the hardest, then the game just cheats.

I've come close to breaking my controllers, but they always come back willing to work.

Usually it's during online games and when I start sucking and dieing every other minute. Specifically in Metal Gear Online, the amount of lag in that game at the time and how easy it is to get headshots made me scream in rage and throw the controller half-hazardly at the wall and making my dad think I'm crazy :x

I think I actually broke one of the triggers on my gamepad playing San Andreas, while trying to learn how to fly. But it had more to do with how cheap the controller was, really.

When I started out playing Tekken 5, I crushed a DualShock between my hands out of sheer frustration fighting Jinpachi.
indeed, you are not the only one.
1 2 3 and tekken 4, all good standard bosses with some lame attack but easy to counter, and then Jinpachi came, making me do the same lame attack over and over to beat him.
/shakefist!

wiping on a boss in wow
I lift up my mouse 7 CM and let it fall down, but that is about it.

I found that i start braking stuff when p.c' s stop working correct.

On GT5 prologue I was 1st in a race I had always come like, 8th in so when I got to the finish line I slammed on the handbrake for a classy skid finish.

There was one more lap to go.

I screamed, threw my controller at the telly, it only glanced the top, spun through the air and landed safely on my bed. Words will not describe the pain.
Cursed by your own hubris :-(

When I played racing games, I always kept my thumb pressed down on the accelerate button so hard that it turned blue. I kept this up until I had definitely crossed the finish line, just in case this happened!

In my case though, I once threw my 360 controller cos I couldn't beat the Apprentice on Soul Calibur 4. It was up to something like my 15th try and I threw the controller, it bounced off my bedroom wall and landed safely on my bed. Thankfully, it lives to fight another day!

I threw a controller at the floor with frustration once. It didn't break but every time it vibrated it made a weird rattling sound.

I threw my controller out of rage at Halo 3 on legendary, I was being killed over and over again by one of my Co-op buddies. It wasn't intentional but it kept happening, after the fourth time I threw my controller at what I thought was my wall and instead it flew threw my window. That was a fun thing to pay for.

Like the time I got a bum copy of Pokemon Emerald that deleted my save data once I'd completed the game. After about the third time it did this I threw it clean across the room and it hit a wall...

Gameboy cartridges are sturdy...
I had this, and I found it equally difficult to destroy, so I simply gave up on it. The irony is, a few months later, my mum was cleaning out some stuff and I heard a crack, so I asked what it was; she had stood on the cartridge and broke it. She was very upset, she thought she'd broken one of my favourite games.

Also, I broke a PS2 controller once out of sheer frustration, since the controller stopped responding properly. I just kept hitting it against the floor, nothing fancy, and bought a new one.

I'm surprised that none of my controllers or handhelds haven't broken to be honest. :\
I often throw small games across the room when I'm at the stage where I could not be more pissed. Like the time I got a bum copy of Pokemon Emerald that deleted my save data once I'd completed the game. After about the third time it did this I threw it clean across the room and it hit a wall...

It would be so apt if that actually fixed the cartridge so you don't have that problem any more :)

As for me, I haven't actually broken a controller or anything before. However, I do get really annoyed to the point I give up playing a game for ages if I get really badly stuck. I'm playing Warhammer 40k: Squad Command at the moment on the DS. Stuck on the final level, have been for ages (it's those damn Defilers, get me every time), so I now play intermittently every few weeks. And still lose...

Guys, I highly doubt any of you have done something as epic as this.

I attached the game disk (Rayman 2, PS2) to the PS2 analog stick, opened my window threw it, CD breaks in half, scratches brothers window, controller goes flying hangs from brothers window and makes a small hole in it.

I then had to pay for it.

COD2 on Veteran on X360 for me.. I'm just not that agile with shooters, so this tends to make me throw me controller through the room.. about ten times. Luckily my sturdy controller survives everything. (Even bitemarks, lol)

Er, this will be quite a long list so bear with me here.

Championship Manager 01/02 - Playing as Bristol City I got them into contention at the top of the premiership in the 5th season. Was sat at the top of the league, 2 points ahead of 2nd place with a goal difference 4 better than them.
I would win the league if I won or if I drew but 2nd place won by 4 goals or less.
I was 2-0 up coming into extra time and 2nd place were also 2-0 up at the same point. In 3 minutes I conceded 2 goals and the team in 2nd scored 3 meaning that I lost the league.
Result - Keyboard chucked at monitor. Monitor knocked off desk and screen shattered when it hit the floor, keyboard broke.

Call of Duty 2 - Was having one of my best games ever, was on a kill streak of 23 and the record for my clan (over 120 active players at the time) was also 23. I chucked a nade round a corner where I knew there was one enemy, nade bounced off invisible wall (corner was shown as narrower than it was) and blew me up.
Result - I punched the top of my case so hard it broke 2 fingers, dented the top of my case, shook my hard drive loose which caused the disk to become loose and destroy itself.

Championship Manager 4 - Playing as Forest Green. I secured successive promotions to reach the premier league, finished 4th in my first season in the Prem thus qualifying for the champions league. Next season I reached the champions league final, playing Barcelona. 90th minute, me 1-0 up. 92nd minute, 1-1. 97th minute, I give away a penalty, 1-2 barcelona. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't be too annoyed by this BUT there were only meant to be 2 minutes of extra time.
Result - Threw mouse across room at wall. Mouse went straight through wall (the wall was pretty much made of paper) and broke a £55 mouse.

Uplink - Playing my longest ever savegame, had about 190 hours of play time put into it. Was hacking a small bank to get a bit of extra cash. It would usually be a very easy hack however about half way through my graphics drivers crashed resulting in my screen blacking out but the game still playing. About 60 seconds later the driver restarted and my screen came back up. I had failed the hack, been traced and my entire savegame was over as in Uplink once you get caught that is the end. 190 hours of play gone due to a crap graphics driver.
Result - Almost brand new 22 inch widescreen monitor punched. Big crack down middle of screen and no longer worked.

Football manager 2005 - Another longest savegame one. I was in season 2074/75, with about 220 hours of play time. Was saving the game when the power cut out. When the power came back on I tried to load the game only to find that the crash had corrupted the savegame. I had deleted my backups about 30 minutes before to clear up some hard drive space and was going to create a new savegame as soon as I had saved the game again.
Result - Disk taken out of drive, smashed into hundreds of tiny pieces. Hard drive taken out and smashed.

As you can tell, I used to have a bit of an anger problem however its not a problem now and the incident with FM2005 was the last one.

I've gotten angry enough to smack the controller against the floor a few times, but never hard enough to break it. I remember being reduced to tears by the Sonic 3. You know, that one midway part in the carnival level with the red and white checkered spinning column?
