This video is what convinced my roommate to get into dubstep The music used is from Klaypex - Loose Dirt, the entire album is available for free on the artists website http://www.klaypex.com/

Another favorite of mine is Royksopp. More of a Techno Chill sound.

I take it house and techno are rather different? Im harzarding a guess, but I had this album called "Skitz Mix" and I figured that techno...loud and obnoxious is really the only way I can decribe it

like this?

though if I were to be really honest I dont mind this all that much :p

I have a pretty good Idea as to what is "house"

also what do you think of Skrillex? I dont mind his stuff though it can be obnoxious at times (I know I used that word alot)

Uh, uhhh uggh - it's so cheap-sounding! I would personally give an award to any techno that actually gains my interest.
All you need is some cheap-ass software and away you go, I've even done it myself. It's fun to create but crap to listen to contently.

But since this isn't me we're talking about and the thread exists to solely recommend you some, the closest I could direct you would be to the Gorillaz; but they're more drum-bass. Any more techno-y and it becomes crapper than crap crap.
well to be fair I get that feeling with certain stuff..like actual "techno" that is only good to listen to if your at a rave/on E

however some "electronic" (I prefer to call it that due to my bad assosiation with the word "techo") is really cool and sounds like actual music with lasting apeal and everything of coarse its all personal taste

this song here goes againt all my sensbilites..I really shouldnt like it but I just do

Believe it or not, House music originated from the 80's gay bars in New York. You learn something new every day...

Skrillex is rather terrible in my honest opinion, pretty much Dubstep for the brain dead masses. His overenthusiasm for hard hitting dub, and cheesy samples don't go down well for me at all, I'm sad to say.

I do however kinda like his tune for the upcoming game Syndicate.

So I pretty much only listen to Glitch Mob, Prodigy, Daft Punk.

Other than those three I don't listen to it much but I'm liking it more and more. I really like stuff that has a really noticeable riff and encourages energy.

Any song or band suggestions would be great

I'm looking for stuff like this
She-Coloris http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzClkMxdsgI
Also Derezzed from Tron is awesome, and the glitch mob remix of it.

Also, please no dubstep, more often than not I hate that stuff.
No proper education in techno can overlook these masters of sound, who helped to inspire the originators. Indeed, they are eletronic... but you may enjoy them.

Have you ever heard of Baggy and Madchester?

Possibly the greatest electronic, and rock crossover there ever was. A great blend of 80's House, and pre Brit-Pop Indie Rock, check it out.

I would heartily recommend some Pendulum, especially if you like Prodigy's stuff. Look up Watercoulours and 9000 miles. On the indie side, go on youtube and look up Syrsa. His song Escape is really good.

These are kind of like Daft Punk:

A few of my personal favorites:

ED: The second song is a remix done by Kollectiv Turmstrass of a Trentemoller song.

You seemed to mention daft punk. French house is one of my favourite genres of music, but I don't really listen to much of it now.

I would recommend that if you like daft punk, listen to Madeon at least, although if you are not much into pop music you might not like it that much, since that is Madeon's biggest influence, but it is definately under the house genre.

Here are some artists that I personally like, not all of them are house but quite a few are. They can be a bit hit & miss though.

Pendulum (DnB mainly)
Room 5 (House)
Deadmau5 (Mainly House, but unfortunately he has some dubstep too)
DJ Marky (DnB)
Fred Falke (House)
Justice (House)
Anything by Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk (House)
Sterehoes (I only really know their track "Urgent", which was pretty good)

...also Capsule, I don't think they are exactly amazing, but I like them, however they tend to be more on the pop side IMO.

JUSTICE and Kavinsky are safe bets. I remember when a friend of mine first got me into French House, I mean, I love rock and roll and play guitar but the day I found all these French DJs was one of the best days of my life

Also, Datarock are pretty sweet, Fa fa fa just makes me wanna move.

EDIT: I forgot about this but Get Innocuous by LCD Soundsystem the Soulwax remix is amazing, I think it was on one of the GTA's, but yeah, wicked song

Sandstorm, despite being a great track is essentially pop music, Pop Trance if you want to be generous.
