I just found a SNES (A Super Nintendo Entertainment System) in my room.
Apparently, it was my Dad's from back when he was in college or something, which is weird, because he's around 47, and I had no idea that SNES has been around for that long.

So anyway, he only had around 5 games. He had:

Joe N' Mac (A fun caveman beat 'em up)
Super Mario All Stars (Which I guess counts as 3 Mario games)
Tetris (Oh Joy)
Chess (OH SWEET JESUS!)
And Super Mario Cart (I love the Wii version, so this one should be a blast, ya gotta love the 16 bit graphics)

So I was looking online to find the best SNES games to buy, but I said, "Ya know what? Fuck that! My fellow Escapists would know better than anyone!"

So my fellow Escapists, what are the best SNES games, and what should I buy?
I'm open to anything but Megaman, because Megaman is too hard for a pussy like me!

EDIT: Oh, right.

I like prety much anything that isn't ridiculously hard.
I like Action, I like Fighting, I like games like The Sim's and Harvest Moon, I LOVE RPG'S (Real RPG'S, Like Dragon Age and KOTOR, but games like Diablo are good too, although I doubt that anything like Diablo is available for SNES.)

Sooo... Yea.

Chrono Trigger, hands down, I don't care what else you get for that system, Chrono Trigger needs to be on that list

depends on what you like, if you like RPG's then I'd suggest Lufia 1&2, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger and whatever FF game came out for the SNES. Also Shadowrun is a good game imo.

I don't know why so many people are recommending Chrono Trigger. The DS version is much better.

I will agree with that, but Chrono Trigger was epic on the SNES as well, though just not quite as epic.

If you can afford it Earthbound is well worth the investment, as others have said Chrono Trigger is one of the RPGs that made Square such a great company in that era. Robotrek from Enix is a good RPG and Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario world all one cartridge and some of nintendos best work on it

I would say Chrono Trigger, but it's HELLA expensive. Like $45, which is a bit much for a SNES game if you ask me.

I got FFIV (says FFII on the label though, LOL export confusion) for like $20. Not a bad idea. TMNT: Turtles in Time is a great game, really short but it's one you can play through a bunch of times and it won't get old. Have no idea how much that is though.

The only problem with the really good games is that they get really expensive, so be wary. I was looking into SNES JRPGs myself, but FFIV is one of the cheaper ones...

OMG LUCKY. Are you willing to sell...?
Anyway, definitely pick up at least one of the Samus games. Like, Metroid or whatever.

Donkey Kong Contry, Donkey Kong Contry Dixie Dubble trubble I've played those two games for ages and I still love'em and don't forget Wolfenstein 3D If you found a uncencored version for the SNES is probably impossible.
