[HEADING=1]EARTHBOUND[/HEADING]

The Only truly flawless game. ever.

EDIT: Holy Balls? I'm the first to recommend it?
You pretty much nailed what I was thinking as I scrolled through the replies. I can't believe it took that long for someone to mention Earthbound! Better late than never, I guess...

Shock and Awe's list is pretty good, too.

Donkey Kong Country 1,2,3
Chrono Trigger
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Final Fantasy III
Super Mario World

These are by far the best that I've played, I still replay them occasionally.

I'd recommend Chrono Trigger/Earthbound/Super Metroid like others have, but they're bound to be expensive. Apologies for the illegality and everything, but why not just play them on an emulator?

The advantage of using the actual console is, y'know, controllers and playing on the TV in the living room and stuff. Comfort. So buy some multiplayer games, and either get your dad to revisit his college days with ya, or turn your friends on to some old-school awesomeness. Mario Kart is great, but you've got that already, so:

F-Zero, Star Fox, Secret of Mana, Contra 3, Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

So many good titles out there... Read people above me, they've taken the words out of my mouth before I even got down to this reply box...

I've had a broken SNES in my room for years now. Not to worry though, I've got one that works in a safe place.

Congrats on randomly finding my favourite console in your room!

That's like when I found a Genesis my step dad owned in our basement... except I already owned a Genesis... I didn't have Golden Axe II though, but guess who did! :D

All you need for the quintessencial SNES experience:

Final Fantasy II (It's actually final fantasy 4)
Final Fantasy III (it's actually Final Fantasy 6)
Chrono Trigger
Earthbound
Super Street Fighter II
Mega Man X, X-2, X-3
Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island (NOT SAFARI)
Link to the Past

that's a big list perhaps, but it's everything you'll ever need ever.

Final Fantasy VI(III)
TMNT:IV
Super Castlevani IV
This sums it up pretty nicely.
Though I would add Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3. Also, Mega Man X.

Get a friend round to play 2-player Battle Mode on Super Mario All Stars. It's epic.

If you can find it, Uniracers was good, a forerunner of modern BMX/skateboard games.

Watch out because the really good SNES games are worth a fortune. I think Chrono Trigger and FF3 are up to about $100.

Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past
Super Mario All Stars
Super Punch-out!!
NBA Jam
International Superstar Soccer Deluxe
Donkey Kong Country (any of 'em)
Terranigma (getting this could be tricky... it was never actually released in the states, but an English language version was released in PAL territories, so you'll need an adapter to play it. Unless you're in a PAL territory, then you just need to get lucky and find a copy. Well worth the effort though, it still stands as one the most underrated RPGs of all time.)
