I just got a PS3. What games are worth getting?

Uncharted 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Heavy Rain, God of War 3 (and the God of War collection, if you haven't already played the first two).... yeah, those are all worth checking out!

I wonder how many times LBP and heavy rain are going to be said? Personally I think both are poor games. One is a QTE fest and the other should have come out when Mario was called jumpman.

God of war 3 is great for a button masher, if you don't like button mashing repetitiveness then avoid it, like I should have done.

I am a MGS fanboy but for anyone not caught up in the story it will be extremely long winded. It also installs itself between chapters, which means you spend a fair amount of time watching snake smoking.

Some people will think games are great others will hate them asking all of us is a bit useless since we will all disagree. Look at what I said about, what seem to be on these forums, a massively loved game, heavy rain.

Also get Saints Row 2, FREAKING FUN! Watch Yahtzee's Review for it.
Just Cause 2 is only new but its hell of alot of fun
Borderlands is addictive, SO ADDICTIVE
and of course GOD OF WAR 3
Ratchet and Clank series is also alot of fun.

Hmmm.. dont rush out for Killzone 2, unless you really liked the first one. MGS4 also falls into this category.

If you're into flight sims I'd recommend Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. I havent played the game myself, but i hear you can pilot an A-6 Intruder. LAUNCH THE INTRUDERRRRR!!!!
Note: Flight of the Intruder= best vietnam movie EVARRR.

This game blew me away. I was shocked how fucking fun, great, inovative, emotional, just fantastic it was. Saint's Row 2 is the priority here

Arkham Asylum, God of War 3 (plus the 1 & 2 remastered pack), Uncharted. Check out Yahtzee's review of Heavenly Sword (waaaaay in the beginning) and you'll understand that it's a cheap God of War knockoff...so, what should you do? BUY GOD OF WAR!!

I disagree. Did you play it? I mean, you can't jump, there are 3 different "weapons" that are actually all useful, and it makes heavy (and competent) use of the sixaxis. It's control scheme has almost nothing to do with GOW. Hell, Yahtzee never even played the actual game. He just played the demo.

It's a knockoff in theme only, and it's a shame it didn't do better, because I had a hell of a lot of fun with it, and it had some of the best CG and voice acting I've ever seen (yes, still). Plus, it's probably in the bargain bin by now, whereas GOW3 is full price.

You have given bad advice. For this you shall be punished... Do a write-off or something.

Oh, and I never played Killzone, but KZ 2 is pretty sweet. I wouldn't pay full price for it because I'm not a big fan of the multiplayers, but it has one of the best shooter campaigns by a non-Valve game I've played in a while.

Um the creator of the thread mentioned nothing of buying ONLY exclusives. I listed games on the ps3 that are just fucking amazing. Does it matter if they're exclusive or not? Fuck I don't care which platform he buys it for, just recommended some awesome games

Well I doubt he dropped 300 bucks to play a game he could have on his 360.

Uncharted 2 is alright, Heavy Rain is probably the best game on the system. Also consider Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4 (if you have a few years to spare).

Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, the Uncharted games, Little Big Planet, and Demon's Souls are all winners. I hear good things about Heavy Rain and God of War 3, but I've neither played, nor am particularly interested in either (at least not enough to fork out the dough).

My favorite non-exclusives at the moment are Final Fantasy 13 and Eternal Sonata.
