I don't intend to get one. The only problem I have with my Elite is the discs scrathing if you move the console, and I've heard the new one's even worse for that.

But a bunch of my friends are getting it, and they've liked the Xbox for a lot longer than me. So, how bad can it be, I guess?
Do you juggle your running systems all the time or something? I don't understand how it's a problem. I could see it being a problem on say the PS2 where you had an attached controller and might jostle the system on accident, but on the 36? Why in the world would you be moving the system around while it is on?
Well... if I'm honest, is was a ragequit problem.
Got angry at a game and jabbed the power button too "enthusiastically", shoving the console back slightly. It only happened once, anyway.

So technically it was my fault, but it wouldn't have happened on the PS3 with its power button on the top. But bringing in different consoles is a whole other road of discussion.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have a cat. This cat has jumped on and bumped the console while I was play and I have not had a disk eaten yet. My brother had a disk eaten by his 360 when he physically picked it up off the shelf and set it upright.

So I have a hard time believing all the exaggerated claims of "so much as breath on it and it will eat your disk" floating around. You must have bumped that sucker pretty hard trying to press the power button. Maybe even knocked it over or something.

Personally, if my current regular XBox fails then I may consider buying the new one depending on my financial situation and the closeness of the next generation. Otherwise, I see no reason to buy it.

You don't want the $300 kinect bundle? The one that comes with the kinect camera controller thing, and a whopping 4 gig HDD. (Yeah, you heard that right, not 40, or 400, just 4.)
I'm sorry, what? Did I hear you right because I think you just said 4 gig. Y'know, 4, like F O U R, 4? Yeah? WHAT. THE. FUCK?

OT: I've heard it's a pretty decent console. But I haven't heard anything that would make me want to buy it. It's not as if they had a unique selling point. It has the kinect compatibility but you can get an addition to your normal XBOX for that. To sum it up, would you describe it as a smaller yet bigger, quiet 360?

I've been hearing people give it a lot of shit because 'you can't move it whilst theres a disc spinning in it' like it's a fucking travesty, but who the hell picks up their PS2 and launches themselves down a hallway while it's still plugged in anyway? It's one of those arguments that seems like logical rage-bait on the surface, but turns out to be just a bit retarded.

Note, I'm not exactly an xbox fan. au contrare, I own a PS3 in actuality, I'm just unbiased. mostly XD
But I'm an xbox fan, and I own a PS3.

OT: I like it better, I've never had a laserburnt disc (From moving the cosole) but they are alot more serious this time when they say "don't bump it".

I have found it faster in the dashboard and in the guide menu as well (when you press the Xbox button on the conroller).

I upgraded from a Pro. It was noticable.

In regards to the kinect thing. Close. It has a input for kinect which will allow you to run kinect off of the power suppied to the 360S. Whereas with a normal 360, Kinect will need an independant power source.

One less cord basically.
