My teenage kids are going to ask me what the heck I was thinking of.
You have teenage kids to play Smash Bros with? It might not be such a bad purchase. As much as I love Smash Bros and Nintendo's living room multiplayer games, me and my friends are in college and have jobs now so we don't have the time to rack up a 1,000 hours in multiplayer like we did with Melee. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an interesting Metroid game. Then I'll buy a Wii U... If I can get one for $200...

Nah, you need a Wiimote and Nunchuck to play Metroid Prime Trilogy, which is definitely the Wii Metroid game you were referring to as it was the only Metroid game on the Wii.

...ahem.
Yup. The only Wii Metroid game. I can't think of any other Metroid games that came out on Wii

Got em but, might as well use em with the Wii. Use the U for things meant for the U.

Once InFamous and Destiny and Watch_Dogs are on the market, that will be a different story [for PS4 purchase] of course. ;)
I'm a loon. I'll no doubt get it too. I can't wait. For now, I'm still playing "last of us" so, no need to move on from PS3 to PS4 just yet.

Really? I'm always cursing the college types thinking they have lots of time to beat the hardest games! (I'm ancient. I actually had time to graduate with honors and STILL beat Zelda 2 on NES, considered a very hard game! As I'm old now, I need easy games!) Enjoy your youth and ensure you make time to play this stuff. When my kids were little, I spent most of my little spare time ensuring THEIR games were set up for them. Ahem. May I never load up "Barney Symphony" ever again :)

Otherwise, the game is same ole Zelda Wind Waker, but looks even better than it already is.
I didn't like the gameplay on the first. I need the 2nd analog stick in play. If they made it so it is that way, I'd likely get it again.

My kid gave away TP before I could really play it. Might get that again.
You're in luck. The right stick controls the camera. There are several changes in Wind Waker HD. There are a lot more than I care to type out, so have a Link, instead: http://zeldawiki.org/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_The_Wind_Waker_HD#Changes_and_Additions

The HD version is significantly improved.

Maybe this NEOGAF thead will make you feel better: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=744532

Imo the only real dumb asses are those who buy launch consoles when they are on a tight budget, especially all those who've sold off all their last gen games to fund it. Many of those guys are now twiddling their thumbs and buying games they hate because they have nothing else to play or using it as a $400 Netflix machine.

The WiiU has been out a year and has a good enough library, buy that Xbone/PS4 next Xmas when there is a decent library to play.

(EDIT just don't mention the WiiU in that thread I posted as someone has already been banned for doing so.)

At the risk of sounding like total ass, my degree is pretty hard. And I just can't start playing a game when I know I should be getting work done. Instead I wind up posting in threads and browsing the Internet instead of getting started in a game I know is huge. Now that I'm on break and have time, my already messed up attention span has been completely wrecked and I don't want to start any games that are longer than a few hours or difficult. My next semester should be easier so hopefully I can relax

When my kids were little, I spent most of my little spare time ensuring THEIR games were set up for them. Ahem. May I never load up "Barney Symphony" ever again :)
Lol. You remind me of when my mom would set up the Sega Genesis for me and my sister and we needed her help to figure out what to do in Ecco the Dolphin. I think would like to load that up again

Nah, I'll get it and blame you :) She doesn't know where you live, so you're safe!

Windwaker HD allows aiming with the gyroscope in the game pad. Most of the time, it is much more intuitive than the second stick! Especially for the grappling hook.
It sounds like a blast. I look forward to getting into it.

I hope you get that time in. All work makes Jack ... y'know.

A buddy of me had a younger brother get the Genesis. He showed me "Ghost Busters" and that likely started my obsession with always moving upward hardware wise. Ecco was amazing.

There was a time when this was the ultimate in graphics
