Also, earlier today I realized that the Red Faction Commander in Red Faction Guerilla is also the Agency-guy-in-your-head in Crackdown.
Also, I was REALLY surprised when Buck from ODST was Nathan Fillion, a.k.a. Richard Castle.

he is in more places than Ron Pearlman, the commander from red faction.
but on topic: quite a few voice actors and artist are seen all throughout games, but it shows Hollywood has some interest in games.

Honestly, I haven't even read the book. I was just exploring some Star-Wars Wiki thing and stumbled upon a lot of very cool things written in Star-Wars books. So I can't say for sure.
