I know its fake but I just can't stop watching it

So I love the show the Coloney they take everything seriously and sometimes you forget that their just actors('cept in the early episodes) Anywho I know its a crap show and all fake but I still love watching.

So escapistest whats that show you know is bad but still love?

Yeah the second I imagined the scenes with a camera crew there I found it a little hilarious that it's branded as a reality show.

Even reality tv is scripted now, christ that's sad.

sure it may be scripted but i cant despute the fact that the stuff they do on that show IS possible and that has value
i just cant believe these people come up with such complex ideas
"okay guys im going to build a full solar power system to power our complex wiring and lighting system thats controled by a computerized swivel that follows the sun as it rises and sets"
the average citizen cannot do that so they had to bring in engineers and scientists to do all the thinking

In my pitiful attempt of a defence, I'm not a fan of everything to do with it. Every year there'll be just two or three people that I genuinely enjoy watching and will only watch for them.
If I'm lucky they'll be evicted early and I can stop watching, pretend I never did and scramble for what little respect I can recover.

Screw you Dave, getting to the final and being all likeable and forcing me to watch I should stop talking because you're all giving me funny looks now.

I like it. It's kind of like "Survivor: Fallout", except I don't throw up from the very thought of it. I know it's fake, but it's entertainment, it doesn't have to be real, just fun.

I used to watch TopGear religiously but now it seems to be waaaay to scripted in the humor. Sad really

I'm pretty sure they've always been pretty open about the scripting on Top Gear. My guess is that there is a healthy mix of scripted jokes and lots of ad-lib that is either shown as is or they'll film it again.

Either way it's still funny if you ask me...

The Colony. I watched the whole first season, and I just kept laughing when I'd forget it was fake. The that guy got his head split open, and somehow was taken to safety right away. They just couldn't fake the immersion enough.

I wouldn't say the Big Brother in UK is fake. They might focus on particular scenes to skew people's opinions on somebody, but i don't think they're as bad as other reality shows where they construct scenes out of unrelated events for drama.

At least i've always seen them as one of the only honest reality shows. Maybe that just means they're good at their job xD

This is strictly the UK version of BB i'm talking about.

I vaguely recall reading an interview where one of the season 1 participants explained that the extent of the script is that occasionally they would get directed to do something, like "go to the river and fish" or "go to this place and pick oranges".

Can any of you post a link that indicates otherwise?

I want to say Buffy the Vampire Slayer but its not bad...not at all. If you havne't yet watched Buffy then you'll likely have a knee jerk reaction to write it off as crap when you hear it's about a cheerleader that fights vampires. Yes the premiss is ludacris but the writing and storytelling is amazing. Imagine taking the twilight series and turning it into somthing intresting, meaningful, and above all esle, FUN!

I don't know how i got sidetracked onto this thought process. Its just that of all the shows i watch buffy seems like the one that should be nothing more than a guilty pleasure...but its not...so baring that i don't really know of any shows that i continue to watch even though their shit.
