Yup, Nintendo Power revealed that the game is in development. New features include:

- A stronger focus on art and story.
- As of now 2 new weapons confirmed: one that shoots through walls, and one that can reflect bullets back at enemies with a stronger force.
- 2-4 player split-screen
- Co-op missions a la Modern Warfare 2, separate from main campaign
- Upgradable armor (think Perks)
- Set in Atlantis (If you payed attention to the game's underlying story, this should make sense)
- Big boss-fights
- Sega's publishing again

Speaking as a fan of the Conduit (one of very few), I am looking forward to this.

EDIT: Ah, more stuff to add:

- Character classes with unique attributes
- 7 new weapons in all
- TPC ammo can be set as mines
- Character appearance can be changed
- ASE being used for more than just puzzles, including a Metroid-esque scanner.

Hmm I might pick this up, unless they decise to not fix the machine gun rocket launcher glitch, but if they didn't then they are assholes anyway.

Hopefully they get the very odd difficulty curve fixed.

I'll probably get it eventually. Hmm...maybe I should play some Conduit 1 multiplayer soon. It wasn't bad.

How was the first Conduit?
It seemed to get some hype before it came out but I haven't heard it mentioned in a long time.
Was it good?

I'm totally interested. I haven't played the original because it got such iffy reviews and I was hesitant on spending fifty bucks. If there's a second one coming out, though, then I'll definitely pick up the original. I looked into the original for so long before it came out and was so disappointed by the reviews when it finally hit the shelves. The reviews are either really positive or really negative. Did anybody particularly like it?

Maybe I'll pick the first one up in a bin then. I don't pay a lot of attention to reviews, but the first one just looked weird. Plus, I've yet to play a functional FPS for the Wii.

Are they going to do anything to make the game less generic? I played the first few levels and had no interest to keep going. It felt like I had played The Conduit before dozens of times in the last ten years.

Not bad on the multiplayer side, though.

Putting first person shooters on the Wii is like parking on train tracks. It's always going to end up bad. In my opinion anyway.

The first Conduit was...
Dammit, I can't remember anything about the first Conduit. I'm pretty sure that I played about 7 or 8 hours of it... but I can't recall a thing. The memories are all jumbled together with a bunch of other shooters.
Perhaps that's a sign that I shouldn't be too excited about the sequal.

Well, it's set in Atlantis, one of the first enemies you see is a sea serpent that can shoot lasers out of its mouth, it has a gun that catches bullets and sends them back at their attakers and quite a bit of other stuff. HVS is definitely trying to lose the generic feeling.

Red Steel 2 (SHOCKINGLY GOOD!)
And Metroid Prime Trilogy say hi.

Especially MPT.

OT: I didn't get around to playing the first, but now I might! It's like...$10.

Yeah it was good but nothing spectacular.Story was a little generic, graphics were good but bland(I think High Voltage put so much effort into making the graphics look good that they forgot to make them look interesting),controls were excellent and gameplay was pretty much run and gun.Multiplayer was good fun and had some nice modes like Bounty Hunter and ASE Football but unfortunately it was kinda glitchy and was hacked almost straight away.

If they can sort out the problems the first one had then I'd be interested in this

Say what you like about the Wii, it is a platform where the WTF news is like this instead of about thousands of people being fired or companies making a loss on games that only sell 1.5 million copies.
