floccinaucinihilipilification: The act of assessing something as worthless.

Although, I thought it meant:

Saying something without really saying anything.

Which I thought was much more ironic, considering how unnecessarily long the word was.

PongaPangus

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pongapangus

Try it on someone. 9 times out of 10 you can drop them to their knees.

Also, one of my favorites because the Navy loves acronyms:
VLA = Vertically Launched ASROC,
ASROC = Anti-Submarine ROCket

And let's not forget :

Flabbergasted : stunned speechless, slack-jaw amazed... and usually overcome with disbelief as a side dish...

If you know what it means then I love you.
And now I feel like sniffing my way through some books.

Discombobulate: To throw into a state of confusion, "Oh, I'm sorry, was that a discombobulating experience?"

And whoever knows who else loves this word earns some major kudos from me. As well as my sympathy for being as stark raving mad as I am for it. (And you'll notice what I did there as well.)

bunch of sycophantic superfluous sesquipedilianists, is what you are.

oh, and juxtaposition is fun to say, a lot, especially incorrectly

and on another more different tangent, spend today mastering the art of using the lesser known def. of "effect" as a VERB to piss ppl off.

That is all.

Yes! Effect as a verb is quite a handy little tool.

I very much like the word 'recapitulation' (The brief recitement of the major points in a narrative, article, or book. Summary.)

It simply rolls off the tongue and sounds so much more highfalutin than recap

That's the improper name for it, and it's a disease similar to Pneumonia where the recipient inhaled too many disulphide, silicone, and other organic and toxic gases found from magma. Usually, mining near, around, or beside volcanoes. Hence all of the root words.
It's also the longest word in the English language. 19 syllables, has antidisestablishmentarianism beat by 8 syllables.

BTW antidisestablishmentarianism means being against the overthrow of a government or establishment. It's really a triple negative, saying that a person likes the establishment that is in place.

I changed my mind

highfalutin is just fuggin awesome.
I concur.

How about a word like "socioeconomic"? You see, I like that word because it saves about 1 gazillionth of a tree every time you use it instead of saying social and economic (plus the space in between words that you don't have to use..... That's some environmentalism there....)

*reaches into the vocabulary box*

Adumbrate - To foreshadow or give a vague outline of something.

Impecunious - To be poor or lacking in money. (From pecuniary; i.e, generally concerned with money.)

Elucidate - To clarify or explain something.

Sycophantic - Describing lackeyish or generally kiss-ass behaviour.

Obfuscate - To obscure or confuse.

Words are fun! Shinies for anyone that can accurately use all of the above in a coherent single sentence :)

I knew it wouldn't be long before this one came up.

Lastly, another word I picked up long ago in French class, and remembered today in Math.
Jejune: insignificant, dull, boring, without importance. ALSO Not nutritious. (Paraphrased, as usual.)
