Halo on the PC allows you to download Halo Custom Edition right?
It does indeed, and that's endlessly entertaining if you find the right maps.
Sounds like a good buy then. My brother is actually looking for it. Christmas coming up, seems like a good idea. Thanks for the confirmation.

I need some help. I'm looking for a good, relatively modern FPS that is not a hyper realistic military shooter. I'm looking for something with big guns, huge explosions, and a just all around fun experience.

I'm playing on the PC, but I'm sort of lost for what to get. Bioshock 1 and 2 look good, but I don't want to deal with SecuRom shit or other DRM crap. I was looking at Serious Sam HD, but I'm not entirely sure.

Can anyone recommend me a good, just plain fun FPS for the PC?

I currently own
Orange Box
Left 4 Dead 2
Republic Commando

Got any others I might be interested in?
TF2,Serious sam,Snow blind(its realistic but the fun weapons make up for it),Time splitters is good, Infernal is a so bad so good 3rd person shooter.Dark messiah is more melle based but IMO the core mechanics are better than Bioshock which IMO is to simplified...
Another good but odd/old game is Psycho Circus.Far cry 1 it might be realistic but once the mutants start coming out it becomes great :X,RTCW is good,Halo 1-2 PC.Turok is kinda realistic but kinda fun.Necrovision is fun but dumb,Alpha prime is really neat if you like unreal like games. Grears of war is ok on the PC believe it or not.

DOOM 3/Quake 4 sucks....damn corridor shooters, the new wolfenstine sucks but its kinda fun.

If you don't care about graphics ,Unreal gold/UT99,Half life, they hunger mod for half life,Clive Barkers Undying,C&C renegade, Red faction 1-2,Heavy Metal faak2 its a 3rd person shooter tho, Quake 2 and quake 1, Duke 3D and blood.

360:
Old school
Perfect Dark
SW Battle Front 2 (or was that third person?)

Nu Games
See all new FPS games that are realistic, they misuse that word for brown and gray.

PC
Deus Ex (it is so cool it counts so there)
Unreal Tournament

Quake Live is my recommendation for unrealistic combat, if you can keep up with the fast pace of the matches.

Give Borderlands a try.

FPS
Tons of fun
Definatly no hyper realistic weapons here (shotguns that fire rockets)

small story line but still great game.

SWBF2 was both, though the 3rd person view was a little problematic at times.

BORDERLANDS you can get pretty much every gun you would want in it and the dlc's are good with the third one being properly one of the best dlc released for a game. if you play on xbox live I wouldn't mind helping you get used to it. also once you get to new haven play with a friend from that point on or it can get a bit boring but with friends it's a hell of a laugh. nothing like punching an 10ft tall midget that has turrets attached to him using your explosive fists or acid revolver.

Deus Ex

It's intelligent and challenging and (if you want to play it as) a FPS and the graphics are old enough that you wouldn't even consider it realistic :p
