We all love movies. Especially movies that are just pure mindless fun. But sometimes, you just feel like you want a little more out of your experience.

I absolutely love a good mind-fuck of a movie, whether it messes with your head just to mess with your head, or to generate some scares. But it's getting a bit harder to find one. So, I wanna ask the Escapist community if they know any good ones.

For the record, I've already seen:
Memento
Inception
Pi
Shutter Island
Anything written by Charlie Kaufman
Cube (Kudos if you actually saw this one)
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Shining
Total Recall
1408 (Really underrated movie)
The Fountain (Also highly underrated)
Fight Club
The Game (You just lost it. /unoriginal joke)
The Usual Suspects
Donnie Darko
Cache (Hidden)
12 Monkeys
The Machinist
Primer (Sorry, I thought it sucked)
Minority Report
A Clockwork Orange
Se7en
Stay (Also thought it sucked)
The Science of Sleep

There's probably more, but those are the main ones. I know it's a lot, but there's a shit ton of movies out there, and there's always something I haven't seen yet.

Fire away.

There's one that I think counts.

The Hole

It's about a few teenagers who trap themselves in a military bunker for a weekend get away and things go very wrong.

He Was A Quiet Man. Really quite fucked up Christian Slater movie about a shooting spree in an office, some mind games, and a lot of bizarre knobbing about. Oh, and some talking fish.

Have you ever seen Session 9? It's a psychological horror film. It's probably one of the only film that managed to scare me.

Uh... Sorry, but I haven't even heard of some of these. I'm not going to be much help here.
OOooh yes! Try Bladerunner. That might be something.

Being John Malkovich

It's weird, funny and completely awesome!

"Malkovich,Malkovich Malkovich?"
"MALKOVICH!"

Also, some David Cronenberg movies have a good dosing of mindfuck, such as existenz.

That's a pretty damn good list. From the top of my head;

American Psycho
Requiem for a Dream
Anything really by David Lynch, especially Mulholland Drive
The Thing (classic horror)
Repulsion (great film by Roman Polanski)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

It's actually pretty hard to find more ones that aren't already on your list.

I'm annoyed that my first two suggestions were also the first two on your list. Crap. Otherwise I suggest Repo Men. Fairly standard gore-y action movie, but the ending is... Not as it seems.

From looking at my DVD pile, the ones that jump out which you havnt mentioned would be "The Others" and "The Orphanage"

Though they verge more on the paranormal, but still good films none the less

How do you feel about Coen Brothers films?

Fargo and Burn After Reading are both very good movies.

The power of the forum; nearly all my recommendations have already been mentioned. Except, unusually, for Silence of the Lambs. It isn't a mindfuck movie in and of itself, but the scenes with Anthony Hopkins are intense and almost obscenely brutal. Worth watching just for him.

The Departed, more of a crime movie really but there's a load of twists in it and you never know what's really going on as you're finding out something new every 5 seconds. The last 30 minutes or so is just twist after twist too. Its my favourite movie, if that helps too.

A Tale of Two Sisters directed by Kim Ji-woon is a wonderful psychological thriller.

Reincarnation directed by Takashi Shimizu would also be a great choice.

Audition directed by Takashi Miike is an amazing film, and will probably make you cringe.

Whilst not exactly a film the original Twilight Zone series all have twists which are often unpredictable and have been massively influential. I couldn't recommend a single episode, almost all are gems, plus there's the bonus of seeing William Shatner being a serious actor in two of them.
