I'm getting very bored with reading girly books that are all the same... same beginning, same ending and same middle!!!

Can anyone suggest a good book that won't bore me to sleep???

Try something from the Black Library, the Warhammer 40,000 books make a nice change.
Especially the Ciaphas Cain books.

Well, some more info as to what you prefer genre wise would be helpful. Lacking that, I like anything by R.A. Salvatore. The Drizzt series is pretty lengthy and new ones are released fairly regularly.

Orcs by Stan Nicolls is good too. It takes the generic roles of humans vs orcs and flips them somewhat.

Anything by Richard Laymon. Beast House is a good place to start.

Depends what your looking for.

Could try some Wheel of Time series for fantasy, or maybe the Band of Brothers book, real story from WW2, quite short too.

That is key. I could suggest some philosophy ones, some classics that you probably haven't read, some comical detective stories. But we need a genre that you are interested it.

Ever read, The Demon King by Cindia William Chima? Really good and it has a sequel, The Exiled Queen. Both very good.

I just have to thank you for quoting me. By doing so you made me realize my grammar sucked in that statement. Too much coffee and trying to pay attention in class!

Yeah, I'll definitely be needing more info about preferences. But since you're on the escapist, maybe Douglas Adam's books or the Firefly books? Other than that, all the classics are usually classics for a reason.

Eoin Colfer has a lot of good books available. Well, I guess it depends on what you are into. I have read and liked most of his stuff.

Do you like fantasy? try Terry Pratchet or Terry Brooks

are there any certain games you like? see if they have a series of novels

I won't hold it against you. Actually I didn't notice until you said something, me and my reading quickly to get the ideas and not worry about the words.

Well, I don't know many girly books, seeing how I'm a guy, but if you're interested in Fantasy I suggest anything defined as Epic fantasy. They usually start with an epic battle of some sort and move on from there.

As for girly books like Twi#@!@# or (insert book here), they're usually the same in and out.

Also Stephen King is a good author to look into. If that's not enough help for ya, then look something up online. I'm in the middle of Deadhouse Gates by Steven Erikson (which explains the Epic fantasy suggestion) and was quite surprised by how good it is.

A good thing about books: you never know what you might find!
